I really like my Echo Dot - it provides me with great information and I can used to stream music to the Bluetooth speaker in my office. Hope to get some smart home devices to complement it.

The echo is great for smart devices, intercom communication in the house and chatting with friends outside the home.

I have been impressed with the echo dot. I didn't have a lot of expectations going it, but it has been so much more helpful and entertaining than I thought it would be. It has a decent speaker, and it has great speech recognition. It obviously learns your speech patterns and gets better at understanding what you're saying.

Gift for a friend and my daughter. Not hard to pair devices and apps but not so easy for new comers. Speakers are with basic sound quality nothing much to expect at least from the echo dot

I have 4 Echo Dots, my primary reason for buying them was for “whole house” music. They work very well controlling lights (Wemo) and my thermostat (Nest). The “drop in” feature (intercom) works great. It hears commands very well however general knowledge is limited. I wouldn’t recommend using the built speaker to listen to music but if you use Bluetooth or aux out and your portable speaker it sounds pretty good. I will buy another if needed.

Didn't realize I was missing out before getting one. This works perfect and hooks up great to my Bluetooth speakers.

Alexa is able to understand what I am saying most of the time. Though not always able to provide an answer depending on what you ask. It is possible for the Echo Dot to learn more skills, which can expand what you ask it. The microphones can pick up your voice using a normal speaking volume and can work from a good distance away.

Purchased the Echo Dot for our home last year, and we really enjoyed and found the product useful. For Christmas this past year, we took advantage of the sales, and purchased two more as gifts. We have feedback from both friends confirming their enjoyment of the Dot as well. Fun Product that get's regular updates.

This is fun to play with. I like listening to the radio a lot and can easily ask to play my station. I've also used it for timers and various other activities based on what is recommended.

We are having fun with Alexa. This was our first venture into smart speakers. We surely aren’t using her as much as we could. But, so far, so good. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the sound was, given the reviews on sound quality for this 2nd generation ECHO Dot weren’t that good.

What a great product for small $$$. Does many things, including turning on my lights, moving the thermostat up/down.

I gave the dot to a friend and his wife as a house warming gift. Its the perfect gift for folks who have everything.

I bought this for my 9 year old and he loves it. It tells him bedtime stories at night and helps with math homework.

Love the device. Had a small issue setting up because of multiple emails and wifi networks for my household but no biggy. Plenty loud enough to hear responses. I get descent sound because i placed mine in the backside of a display cabinet where it hidden but resonates the sound. Once in a few responses i get i didnt understand but that might be the acoustic of cabinet. My five year old even loves to say good morning and night to the device because it replies to him.

This is an excellent item that is easily used by everyone in the household. Plays music, serves as a dictionary etc.

No complaints. The sound on the dot form factor isn’t great but it is functional to have dispersed around the house.

Very handy to have around. Can ask it about the weather, what time it is and it can play music you want to hear.

The Amazon Echo Dot 2nd Generation was purchased to synch speakers with Echo Show... the next software version should allow this. Also purchased to play music and control lights in TV Room.
