If your thinking of getting into Home Automation then this is the way to go. Works great with the Philips Hue bulbs and the Nest thermostat. But is also fun to play with. It does the same job as the more expensive model, but far less expensive.

Great product, very easy to use & compact. Love the Alexa abilities!

We bought 5 dots. 2 for us, 1 for our niece, 1 for her mom and 1 for our roommate. We have gotten glowing reviews from all. This is what our niece has to say "I absolutely love it! Has a good little speaker inside, but another Bluetooth speaker is recommended. There is just so much you can do with this little thing and I recommend this to any tech savvy person." We had the echo for a few days in the living room and we wanted 1 for the bathroom and 1 for our bedroom. We have since moved the echo into the bedroom and a dot to the living room because we talked to some of the Magnolia guys and found out that thru a cable we can connect the dot to our receiver and hear the music thru the surround sound! Very cool! We have our calendar linked and Alexa wakes us up every morning. Having a ton of fun with our new toys!

I love having the ability to change channels, play shows or movies on fire tv, turn on/off lights, listen to music, even siriusxm all with verbal commands! Getting weather, news updates, sports updates, etc is also a plus!

She turns on my lights, wakes me up, plays my music, reads me stories, gives me my weather reports and answers my questions. What an amazing gadget!!! If you have wifi go buy one. Consider a Sonos speaker while you are at it.

Set it up to work with lights and TV. We have three different smart bulb systems and it works with them all. You can group multiple bulbs to operate on one command, no need to open each app on the phone to control each system. Just added Logitech Harmony Hub allowing control of the TV on/off, volume and pre selected channels. For the price you cannot bet it.

I love this. I have the original Amazon Echo and this took a little bit of getting used to as it doesn't have the little notification sound as the normal Echo does. But, because I have smart lights and smart thermostats and things of that nature, it's great being down in my living room and just telling Alexa to turn off my kitchen or my hallway. I love it.

I love this device. It pairs to my phone and to any other speakers in my house. The commands are easy and it's accurate with what's going on in politics. It plays your Pandora music when you ask. I just love this little speaker. My new friend!

This is a perfect size item that has good enough sound quality for go to sleep and general listening. The snooze alarm is convenient. In addition, she can answer lots of questions, track shopping list, provide news, weather reports, etc.

I didn't know how much I would appreciate having Alexa until I realized how much she can do. She is quite good at understanding what you say and can solve all sorts of problems. I use her constantly for weather updates and as a timer when cooking. I also listen to radio much more now that it is so easy to listen to iHeart Radio. The only downsize with the Echo is the speakers, which are only adequate. Do yourself a favor and buy much better Bluetooth speakers so that you can truly enjoy the music.

Bought his for the bathroom Sound is perfect. Alexa never is great

I now have Alexa in sync with my Phillips Hur bulbs and the TP-LINK smart plugs. It’s an incredible modern convenenice. I even got my family some Echo products for Christmas, can’t wait to be able to send them quick messages through Alexa, while I’m multi tasking. I’m still playing around with it, and can’t wait to explore more Alexa compatible products.

Love the Echo Dot. I bought this one since I already had the Echo in the downstairs kitchen. This is for the upstairs master bedroom. As noted in the product documentation the speaker is not as good as the Echo - BUT - it surprised me. I can be in the master bathroom getting ready for work and tell it "Alexa, play Johnny Cash" and it can be clearly and decently heard in the next room. Plus it found my wifi and once I logged in it automatically added into my Amazon Prime account. I nicknamed it Dot-Bedroom and was up and running in 5 minutes. I find I use it as an alarm clock as well and it has snooze which I need. I will be purchasing 2-3 more of these babys and automating the entire house with lights and other cool ideas. next step I will be downloading the Echo programming kit and trying to build new apps (aka "skills").

This is a very useful speaker and I like the fact that it does everything that the regular sized Echo does without the size and weight. It's very durable and the white color is nice. The speaker works well and it's pretty easy to use.

Great interface that provides something I have never had before. I only paid $29.99. It still has a long way to go in terms of intelligence, but still lots of apps from which to choose. I attached to small external speaker I already had, so sound is much better. Don't know much about regular Echo, but Dot seems to provide all I need at much lower price.

This is great for controlling outlets, switches and playin music

I purchased this Echo Dot and a WiFi plug. The echo dot was simple to setup and took maybe five minutes in all for complete setup. I really enjoy the echo they are adding new features for it to do everyday. Alexa will either Christmas rap for you or sing you a Christmas song. So much to do and so little time but definitely would recommend to anyone.

The Echo Dot is great for a small area and it's easy to set up.
