My kids have one in there rooms and they love it.The unit volume is decent and tge connectivity is great.

Compared echo dot vs Google Home mini, ended up getting the Echo Dot only because I am Amazon Prime member and have two Firesticks for my tv's. I don't like the appearance of it. Cons: Looks like a hockey puck with Amazon logo emblazed on the front. Prefer the appearance of the Google Home mini better. The power adapter/cord protrudes 3 1/2" from the wall which I hate the most about it. The Google Home mini has a much smaller adapter that is not as obtrusive. These do require to be plugged in and are not battery operated. The Echo doesn't automatically recognize each person's voice, it has to be set up manually If you want Alexa to add things to a specific persons list or calender. The Google Home mini does this automatically. Alexa generates cards for every command it is given for you to mark if Alexa understood you that I have to delete manually to clear. This on your app on your phone. I find this to be a pain, now I have this to maintain in addition to deleting junk emails. Isn't able to answer all questions, some which seem easy. Speaker sound quality is not great if listening to music. Pros: Is good at recognizing commands/requests accurately. Can pair with Bluetooth speakers to listen through instead of the dot. Did not pair easily. Integrates with anything Amazon. Has buttons on top which can be used in lieu of voice commands. For $29.99 it was worth the price. If the Google Home mini was able to integrate with Amazon devices/ services, I would have bought it as I prefer the appearance of it over the Echo dot.

When i first heard about the Amazon Echo Dot, I really didn’t even know what it was I am so glad that I decided to make the purchase as a Christmas present to myself. It is very convenient to have i connected it to my phone so i can play my music anytime. To sum it all up...ILove My Echo Dot!!

Alexa wakes me up every morning with my favorite song. She tells me what the weather will be and reminds me of any appointments I have for the day. I can ask her anything and will get an answer. I don’t know how I ever got along without her. And she doesn’t take up much space!

Very impressed with Alexa and the sound from such a tiny speaker! Only complaint is there is not much in the way of Canadian content. Would get 5 Stars for Canadian content.

I love my echo dot!! I initially wasn't sure about all of the options available to me through Alexa. Now that I've figured out how to communicate with it I am so very happy with my purchase. I keep it in my kitchen and use it to pull up a recipe or play music or even call a friend while doing dishes.

Have an Echo in the kitchen, but got a Dot for the bedroom. It has completely replaced my alarm clock. No need for a bright light clock anymore. Just ask Alexa what time it is, to set an alarm, to snooze, etc. Works great, can connect to a speaker if you want but the built in one is fine for a small room.

This is so great! It makes life hassels more convenient n less of a hassel. Real helper in the kitchen!

You will not be disappointed. I use for alarm in bedroom. Great for music and making your shopping list.

Gave this as a Christmas gift to my husband and he loved it. Great gift for a those who are into techs.

i bought this on sale for 39$ and it is a great buy it connnects easily and answers all types of questions and spells words gives news updates, allows you to list to do things and shopping lists even your calendar it recognizes your voice very well even play games like jepordy and order from amazon.

This is a companion for one we already have. Easy to set up. Communicate between the two like intercom.

I went back and forth for a long time deciding whether or not I'd get a Dot and I'm so glad we finally decided to get it. It's connected to the speaker in our bathroom, so I can put things on my shopping list when I remember in the shower. She doesn't take up much room, which is nice.

So far I have enjoyed my dot. It has been helpful with traffic, weather, and news updates. As well as great fun when company comes over with built in games and Alex Skills.

We have one of these already and bought for our daughter. We know she will enjoy having it in her room!

The Echo is a nice device and even though I prefer Google Home, I find myself using it more and to control my smart devices. My problem is voice recognition doesn't' seem to be that great, even after training the unit. Not to compare but my Google Home does a much better job of interpreting voice commands, even from my 3-year old. The Logitech Harmony skills could use a little work. Other than that, I still like the device,
