My friend wanted a music player, but had limited use of her hands. Voice control was the key! We already had an Amazon Prime subscription, so playing any music she wanted was easy. Even with her slight trouble speaking, Alexa figured out what she said and played what she asked for.

I was not sure if I really needed the echo dot or just wanted it but after I got it I realized it is so awesome. It's voice recognition is the best I have experienced so far. It adapts as you ask more questions. My kids love it. They just ask alexa and don't bother us so much :)

It seems to everything that I expected from it. I would recommend to my family and friends.

Decided to try the Amazon Echo Dot and the Google Home. Both have great features, but when I want music played, the Dot wins every time. It's also nice to use for when I need to set a timer and it integrates nicely with my Control4 home automation system which allows me to use the Dot to control the lights and thermostat in my house. Now if you want information, then the Google Home is better for that.

This little divice is really worth the money. The Echo Dot does so much more then I expected and cheaper in price then Amazon Echo. I found out it does require an app to be downloaded on your smartphone or tablet so you can customize it functions. I am very glad I purchased this item.

I have both the Amazon Echo and the Google Home Mini. I prefer the Echo. It has small random things that make it a better experience for me. Such as when I say its wake word, it will produce a low "ding" to indicate it's now listening" and a higher "ding" when it's done listening and is processing. Makes it easier so I don't have to look over at it to see if it's listening or not. Having an auxiliary out is great especially since I have it plugged into an external speaker. While the Google Home Mini is great for Google integration, I enjoy the Echo's integration with my Amazon account. It'll notify me when packages are on the way, delivered and/or delayed. There are a ton of skills you can add in for home automation, news, games, etc. While you can't have a true conversation with it (most of the time, you have to say the wake word for it to start listening - unlike the Google Home), it still gets the job done pretty well.

We got the Alexa Dot to demo the technology in our “smart” apartment that uses Samsung SmartThings Hub. Easy to setup, follows voice commands well. Enjoy the connectivity to IHeartRadio and Amazon Music. We don’t use all of its functions but what we do use works great.

This is a cool little gadget for the sale price of $30. Connected a smart plug to it and my son enjoys turning our Christmas decorations on and off with it.

Great device for my kids bedrooms and hooks or links to the main device in the living room

Linking my home devices is awesome with alexa and the reminders and notifications is great

I have a couple of Dots. I love them. The Alexa line is a great addition to any household.

This product, first and foremost, was much easier to set up than anticipated. Don't let that scare you off. The practical applications, and additional products used in sync with this product ie bluetooth speakers, light switch/light bulbs and the harmony hub, have been the best part for me! In addition, this product provides tons of entertainment value in the way of games, trivia, etc.

This is great. It controls my Dish receiver, texts, calls. Going to add Home modules soon.

I have had the original Echo since its introduction and this lil guy works almost as good.

Great stockcking stuffer for all ... the kids and anyone else in the family would enjoy it

This is the second one I purchase. Both this one and the previous one were gifts. For the price these are pretty cool devices to gift. They play music pretty loud considering it’s small design. Alexa is also very efficient even when you call her at a distance.

Brought this Dot mostly for streaming music using a the Boise Soundlink Color speaker that I had previously purchased. Setup of the Dot was very easy using my iPhone. I am pleased with the sound quality of the combination. I also like using Alexa for news and other information.

Speak very clearly. Entertaining answers at times. Still learning how to ask the question to get the proper response.

The Amazon Echo Dot has been a great addition to our Amazon Echo. It is nice to be able to "drop in" on the other devices, set a timer, or just tell a joke.
