I have bought a few of these to send to Canada, which does not yet have Amazon Echo products. They make for excellent gifts if the recipient has Spotify or Amazon Music Unlimited. If they don't have a music subscription or compatible lights, then it seems pretty useless.

Get the Generation 3. The 2s are good if you are not going to be using them for music or anyplace that is loud. I still love ours, but it is not in a noisy area. The 3rd Generation however is MUCH MIUCH loser and clearer in my opinion. I use this in the bathroom with the acoustic quality is greater and it seems to be a good fit.

Helpful little unit for my smart home... fun changing channels on tv/sat especially when the remote is no where to be found... slowly adding features as time goes by... if only i could get it to get the kids to make their beds?

We bought 3 for the house for Xmas. They are a good gadget that we are probably just scratching the surface for what it is truly capable of doing. We use for an alarm clock, timer, get a joke or play music. I am sure that there are many more uses and look forward to using more.

Have several of these and they work great. Can be used as intercom throughout the house

My ECHO DOT is just FUN! The whole family is enjoying it and we find we learn from it. We tried talking to some new phones we got and found the things we do with the DOT also work with the phones! So much time is saved by being able to talk with these gadgets. Great purchase!

This thing is great, we have this upstairs and the echo down stairs. Perfect complement to one another. They link together, giving you seamless music and helpless at any moment. It's like Siri for your house. Plus if you use it to shop on amazon you get money off your purchases

This product is amazing, everyone needs this in their house, A MUST HAVE ITEM. you can set it up to remind you of everything or to tell me my reminders, alarms, news, weather, and more. I own a Amazon Echo Show and it is a perfect complement to it.

We've already had the Echo since the summer, and was contemplating purchasing this. The price was right, and after connecting it in another room, wondered why we waited so long. Love the fact that it connects to the home speaker system also to listen throughout the entire home!

I love the Echo. I purchased for my office. I don't have to fumble with my phone to turn on or off music, to check weather or to just ask questions to help me with conversions during work. Example, Alexa, how many ounces are in a gallon..This saves me a ton of time. Love my Dot.

The echo dot is a great accessory to a Bose speaker my wife bought me. Now I can walk in and ask for 90s alternative and have music without pulling out a phone or laptop. Also it's great for the shopping list feature and for getting weather to know what temperature to expect.

We use this in the house for Christmas music a lot. The wife uses it for all her music.

Absolutely love this, control my Lutron Casetta wall switches, change my house temperature with Honey Wifi Thermostat and can tell Alexa to play any song from Spotify connected to my stereo with an auxiliary cable. Next on my list is adding cameras to Alexa skills!

I love what this little piece of equipment can do. I didn’t initially connect it but after a friend told me what all it can do I decided to connect it. I’ve been addicted since then. I have invested in other echo devices for myself and family members.

I currently have 2 Alexa's in the home and they are amazing. From morning news as I'm getting ready for work to turning my lights on and off as well as changing the colors. Easy to use and easy to set up. She will even read your books to you from audible. Highly recommended

Works good for what it is suposed to be. The only thing I didnt like about it is the fact that it has to stay plugged in. You would think that amazon would have made it completely wiresless and portable but it's not. I got it as a present for someone but I wouldnt get it for myself. I would rather go for a complete wireless speaker, having Alexa doesnt make that much of a difference to me. I could go without her and get something more cheaper and works the same.
