I connected an android and an iPhone and both experienced some set backs. The call feature works pretty good with android and to no surprise struggles with iPhones. Only one “user” can use their Spotify and it has to be the “primary” user. There is a way around being able to use another user’s Spotify, but it’s easier to connect via Bluetooth to an actual speaker. Alexa can’t understand questions as easily as the google home. With Alexa questions have to be very specific and direct. Since Alexa doesn’t use google, she also doesn’t have answer to many questions you can google faster on your phone. However, Alexa is still pretty fun. The alarm worked great. Using the IFTTT app I was able to use my iPhone calendar. There also a lot of fun “skills” you can allow Alexa to have, such as, asking what’s on Bob’s Burgers chalkboard: burger of the day. The downside to the task is the unnecessary long phrases that have to be said to use the skills. Overall, Alexa can be fun to use, but not for more “advanced” skills.

Before buying this product I didn't do much reseach on it to aside from replaying the awesome commercial . Easy set up and very responsive to voice almost at any tone level . Only con I have is that Alexa currently does not have access to my Apple Music which sucks, I already pay a subscription fee for it now I have to subscribe to Spotify which in my opinion isn't comparable .

I wish we didn't wait so long to get one of these! There was a promo and it came with the ring doorbell, so we got it. We are very happy with it. We keep ours in the kitchen and it is awesome since it can be used by just talking to it!

Echo dot is a very useful addition to my home.I use it to play music constantly and pairing to my Bluetooth speaker really enriches the overall sound.I get the weather news and traffic on it and it's very accurate.certainly a great product for a small price.

Learning new ways to utilize alexa every day. Funny and helpful at the same time

It does pretty good things when you ask questions. Always use this echo to set alarm for wake up call. And it answers everything you want to know. Got the Amazon tablet also and did the same thing. Beautiful. You will like it. 5 stars Amazon!

This is a great device to control your connected devices. Mine controls the Nest, Logitech remote, and lights. It also does a good job streaming music when connected to a speaker, mine connects to the home theatre system, and it uses all the popular services.

This is my second order of Dot. I bought the Echo and Dot when they were launched respectively. This thing is life saver for my visually impaired kid. He uses it to the max. That's the reason I placed another order to get couple more to have it in every room

The Echo Dot is the smaller version of the product. This is a small and simple to use device. Talking to "Electra" has been informational and a blast. Note -- shows you can play music from anywhere -- though you do have to have a service to pull from. Just a note.

This product has been great. It is great for any ambition towards a smart home.

It does a lot of things. I had previously purchased the Google home but was upset with it's limited capabilities. This one does tasks, turns on my lights, plays my music and turns off the music, I just want more smart things. I'm slowly but surely adding new things

After opening alexa i loved how easy it was to set up and integrate to my home.

Dot is a great value especially at $35 on sale. Use primarily for 8 year old daughter as her alarm and scheduler. Great to get her more independent at getting herself up and deciding what clothes to wear based on activities and weather for the day. I'm personally an Apple person. But Alexa is a much better voice assistant. Gets everything the first time and correctly.

This is my 2nd Echo that I've purchased. My first one (the taller, original model) has been a staple of my home life since first opening it. I bought this dot for my parents because I wasn't 100% sure they would be into it, so I went with the cheaper model. They, like me, have also been using it every day even though they are slow to technology. While the dot has a less powerful speaker than my bigger unit, at roughly $100 less, there's a ton of value. My parents think it's just fine. Between timers in the kitchen, to playing music, to weather reports the dot is amazingly useful! I can't recommend the Echo line of devices enough! Of course, it really shines when you have Amazon Prime (which we do). I've gotten to the point that in my car and office I find myself attempting to ask a question only to realize the Echo is, to my dismay, not with me. Once you get used to it, it's hard to live without it!

The setup process is not too difficult. If you are using your phone and its a Samsung, please make sure you turn off "Smart network switch" before proceeding. The volume is decent but its abilities are lacking; I just wish it was slightly more comprehensive like Google's offering, but for the price its not bad. I am glad however, Amazon is constantly updating Alex's ability.

Great substitute for echo cheaper and does same thing as more expensive echo

I already had a couple of these and my mom purchased an Echo. She paid too much for it at a competitor. I told her send it back and I would bring her a Dot. It does basically all the Echo does. She loves it!! Big Hit with her and at a great price. Thanks Best Buy!

Our family has had so much fun with this. Not only is Alexa informative, but very entertaining & helpful. So easy to use & gets "smarter" every time you use it. I'll be adding more Skills now that I've gotten acquainted with how the Echo Dot works. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
