Else with would be a 5 star review. This is our third Alexa (this one was a gift for my mom). Plus the two in my house control appliances and lightify bulbs around the house...everyone is in awe when she plays out music, answers general Wikipedia questions and activates other linked devices through Amazon Alexa skills. Every month lots of new skills from Amazon... :-)

I love my echo dot. Alexa is truly a good friend. I go to her for everything. Weather, recipes, history questions and so much more. This is truly state of the art and its always updating new information. Bought 3 for me at Christmas and 4 as presents for relatives

Does everything the full size Echo does for less money. Sound is not the best if you like playing music full blast with bass, but at normal levels the sound is good. I definitely recommend the Dot if you are wanting Alexa but want to save some money.

I love it where I;m doing something and just ask it to play my favorite artist

Brought this for my daughter and she loves it. I will recommend this product . I will be buying the light bulbs so it can turn off my lights.

I use this for streaming audio from radio stations on tune in and Iheart radio.

I like that this device is pretty much the same as the Echo but for a lot less money. If you want all the great features of the echo and don't need the big speaker, then this product is definitely for you. You could get multiples of these for the price of one echo

I bought the Amazon Echo Dot as an impulse purchase, mainly because of the great sale price around the holidays. Since the device is small and I am a stickler for high fidelity sound, I don't use the built-in speaker. Instead, I use a "stereo mini" cable to feed the Echo Dot output to my stereo receiver. And I separately bought a "smart plug" to have Alexa turn on the receiver when I want to use it to play music. The ability of Alexa to understand my voice is far better than my iPhone's Siri, so I am thrilled! Alexa does everything that I wanted it to do, and then some. I liked it so much, I ended up buying 4 in all, so I can connect Alexa to different stereo systems in my house. (Part of why I selected Alexa is because the comparable Google Home products do not seem to have a "mini jack" so they can only be used with newer Bluetooth-enabled equipment).

I purchased a few of these for Christmas gifts, I had to get another one for myself. I'm currently using my full sized echo in the living room, and I have the Echo Dot on my nightstand, taking the place of my alarm clock! Really a great little device!

The Echo Dot has been a great source of learning and entertainment for me. It helps me know the weather in my area with one quick question and entertains me with quizzes and fast facts on anything from bacon to history. a great purchase for a reasonable price.

Setup was easy from my Droid tablet Alexa app. However, to use it as an intercom for my handicapped wife, I needed a newer Droid or I-Os phone. My stepson drove 140 miles round trip to enable "Calling and Messaging' which proceeded to upload all his work contacts even though he used my phone number to activate the service. Now I can't call him but I can call all the auto parts dealers in western Pennsylvania over VOIP. Don't know why the tablet app lacks the feature as the first set of contacts is from Google Plus and some people have VOIP on their tabs. Upgraded my phone to Galaxy S8+ to gain complete control of the network but the Dot works outstanding after $1100 and 4 man hours of sedentary labor to install this $30 device. I'll probably buy a couple more for the basement and kitchen. I don't EVEN want to talk about senior citizen Vs Galaxy S8+!!!

The Echo Dot is a great gadget to have. Should use a bluetooth speaker to enhance the sound, but not necessary to hear the Dot. The Dots speaker is comparable to a transister radio's (for those who remember what a transister radio is). Definitely worth the price.

It's amazing to think that you could use these low cost smart home voice assistants to control so many things in your home - just a few years ago only multi-million $$ mansions had this level of voice activated automation - the revolution has begun!

Same great features as the larger echo. Audio not as rich or deep as the other echos but that really should be expected given its small size.

Echo Dots are easy to set up and communicate with each one in different rooms.
