I purchased several for Christmas gifts and the pricing on sale was unbeatable! All my gift recipients including myself were thrilled with the Echo Dot. Alexa has now become a household member of the family! It is very easy to set up and if you teach Alexa your specific “skills” she will be your personal assistant.

I purchased an Echo Dot (Amazon Alexa device) because it will work to operate my Sonos speaker system by using the Alexa voice recognition system. It works perfectly and Alexa has many fun skills in addition such as news, weather, 20 questions and many more. If you have a smart home system it can operate that too!

I received my very first Alexa free as a promotion add on to another purchase. Since receiving the product I have since purchased 3 additional Alexas and recommended it to my mother, sister and best friend. Alexa ultimately started my Smart Home revolution. It is connect to my Smart Lock, my Ring security system, Ring Door bell, smart lamps, smart TV and smart thermostat. For Christmas I was able to link Alexa to smart plugs that controlled my Christmas tree and Christmas lights. I also use alexa to call family and friends, my alarm clock. Needless to say I am completely sold and would not do without Alexa in my home.

I enjoyed my 1st 2 echo's (1 in bedroom, another in livingroom) so much, that when I saw they were on sale again, I just HAD to buy 1 more for the diningroom. In the morning, b4 getting out of bed I get news briefing & weather report. When in kitchen baking I have music playing from spotify\Pandora. I can bluetooth to another speaker, but the speaker in echo dot is just fine. Can also ask echo dot to add items to my grocery list as I go thru the fridge...it adds items to my phone. In livingroom I can also play music, ask ?'s of items I see on TV, & control items I have plugged into smart plugs... can also control items plugged into smart plugs from any echo dot. I use several apps with echo dot & enjoy echo's humor & useful info.

I use my echo a lot!! I have mobility issues and "Alexa" helps so much. It's in bdrm. The dot was on sale for $29.99, and for just $5.00 more I could get a "smart device" to plug in to an outlet that's normally $35.00. I couldn't pass it up. The dot is in Liv rm. The good: it does the same things like to do lists, alarms, music, games, audible books, podcasts, etc. The bad: the sound quality is poor, like when you buy a cheap tv you know the sound won't be great. But for music being played more quietly it's fine. Biggest problem is it's not as responsive as large echo. I only have to say things once for echo in bdrm. It even picks up a "Stop" from another room when alarm goes off. Sometimes I'm giving many instuctions at once and echo doesn't drop the ball. With the dot I usually have to yell to get "her" attention, if music is playing dot can hardly hear me. I need to yell repeatedly. Once I get her attention, she still drops the ball a lot in terms of following the command. Despite these issues, I'm really very happy I have the dot, especially for the cheaper price. I use it often when in that room. But if you have an echo and don't rely on it much, the dot may be frustrating. In terms of how they work together, the dot seems to have my basic info and preferences. Listening to Christmas music on the dot and moving into the bedroom means I can't have the music continue on that echo. If I ask Alexa to play Christmas music, the echo says "you have another device in use. Do you want to use this echo?" So I say yes and start the music from the beginning of playlist. I can just say "skip" many times and get to where I was on the dot. But the devices don't sync up.

The device was easy to setup and also very easy to use. T he integration with other products like TP link smart switch and bulbs is good. I have been only using it for a week or so but so far so good. I think that Alexa needs to still ramp up on being able to provide us with information that we ask through questions. Currently it does not know a lot of general things. I would recommend to buy this for home improvement and not as a general gadget.

Bought for my mother who isn't very technical suavy. Set up was pretty easy and she really enjoys it. She uses it for the alarm, music, traffic and weather. May but another for additional room in the near future.

The dot is realatively easy to setup and use...Amazon makes a good product but doesn’t always deliver on the first purchase. I had to exchange the dot; manufacture defect. Sometimes I have to yell for Alexa to respond while other times I can speak softly. I really like the hands free such as to play music, etc. The dot has so many functions; receiving emails on what to ask, try and say to/with Alexa is very helpful. Overall I’m enjoying the dot.

The Echo Dot is a great assistant, you can ask it just about anything and Alexa will answer you. You can play music on it and you can pair it with a Bluetooth speaker for bigger sound than the small speaker built into the Dot. Price at Best Buy is the lowest I found during the holidays and they had plenty in stock.

If your looking for inexpensive device for any family member this Christmas look no further. Ask Alexa just about any thing from homework questions to updates on your fav sports team. And when paired with your home automation hub Alexa can turn on lights, control your thermostat and even control your media devices.

What can I say, it's a baby echo that's cheap enough to put in every room. It's good for adding to existing powered speaker that you already own. Amazon is constantly adding features so at some point there will be something for everyone. This is a must have for anyone who is or wants to be in the Amazon ecosystem.

I was pleased with the great customer service and the convenience of online ordering. The price for the echo is good I don't like the fact that I have to pay a monthly fee to hear some music but it is what it is. The product was shipped in a timely matter. I would recommend family and friends to buy from Best Buy.

I keep her in my kitchen and then people just ask her stuff, its need to hear what other people think to ask her. She doesn't know science and elaborate things, sometimes it's faster to look it up in google rather than ask her what are the signs of Tylenol Toxicity are, But she's good for current media type stuff.

Very happy with my purchase. There are many options for use with Alexa, tracking packages, ordering items, asking questions, reminders, checking calendar, etc. It's built well and the speaker (for what is is) works great...even better if you hook it up to a sound bar. :) Great product to own or give as a gift.

I've been waiting for Echo's to go on sale for a while now so when they dropped the price I jumped. We went with Echo Dot because we already have a good Bluetooth speaker it can connect with, as well as a Home Theater Receiver available via the Line Out Jack on the Echo Dot. We use the Hue skill to control lights without searching for our phone first. The voice recognition even works from 2 rooms away when it's time to go to bed. The Jeopardy skill is also fun. They have 6 new questions every weekday and compare your score to everyone else at the end of the week. It's great to request a song or artist and have Alexa search your available services. Very handy little device and I can't wait to do more with it.

I just love this Amazon Echo. This is my 3rd one I have in the house; bedroom, living room, and now one for the kitchen. I'm able to play music, set timers, ask general questions, especially about the weather forecast for my area and my daughters' area, DC. I'm just discovering more and more each time I use them.

I first received my Echo Dot as a birthday gift. It is so much fun, informative and useful!! We get football scores, weather reports and right now, I’m enjoying Christmas music! I bought an additional wireless speaker. I liked this so much that I bought four more for Christmas presents! You won’t be disappointed!

This device (Amazon Echo Dot) is a very handly and useful device to have in your home or office, once connected to the internet, there is so many things this device offers, the app you must download to control the Echo Dot, is also very neat itself! The speakers are very decent for music play back, especially for the cost of the device! There are many cool things that Alexa (the talking A.I women’s name whom you give commands to) is a very helpful thing, if your someone who likes voice activated hands free devices! This also makes a great gift! I own 4 and love them all, I have one in the kitchen, and 3 in the bedrooms. You may also you them as intercoms. I highly recommend the Amazon Echo Dot.

I Love this device! I have it controlling my TV, turning lights on and off, powering my PC and other things around the house. Even ordering products from amazon website is a cinch! If your a fan of home automation, get this device and then get an Bluetooth speaker if you plan to use it as a music player as well.
