I purchased this to work with my thermostat. Would have given it 5 stars but was a little harder to set up compared to the Google assistant.

Got both teens one and some others on the Christmas list these for gifts this year and they all love it! But I feel as if there is someone else living in the house at times lol. I hear the girls talking when no ones hear and forget they are talking to the dot.

Love my echo dot. I own 3 of them and they all work great. The microphones pick up clearly wherever you are in the room. Highly recommend.

Does everything the 3rd generation does. The only real difference is speaker quality. The 3rd generation speaker is WAY BETTER. If you don’t use it for music, save a few dollars with this one.

I purchased the echo dot as a birthday present for a friend and it was great.

My husband got me the echo dot for Christmas last year & it took us some time to finally master it & then we bought another for the bedroom. I like it for playing music or sounds to relax you so you can fall a sleep... Still Learning new things...

I now own 3 echo dots and counting. If you have any home automation The echo is even more useful. I now control my Nest Thermostat and Tp-link plug so I can listen to music, control the lights, and the heat. Absolutely worth the $29.99 sale price.

Alexa is fun to use. We ask her for the weather all the time and funny jokes

Nice device, but was surprised to find that it was not able to answer a lot of my questions. Lots of set up to have it do a lot of the functions. I also recommend buying the buyer protection (I think it was $5 for 2 years). I bought the protection plan and used it because my original Echo would malfunction intermittently and I was able to replace it with a new one.

Bought this for my wife, she basically only uses it for the music playing aspect. But she loves it bc we have Prime Music. My daughter uses it to ask Alexa jokes. Be careful where you put it, if it's close to the tv, will pick up Amazon echo commercials.

This is my first assistant and I am extremely pleased with the capabilities. I powered it on, accessed the setup and within minutes, it was up and running. Extremely easy to use and provides an excellent variety of options. I would recommend this to everyone.

This is the greatest purchase I have ever made. I just love the Alexa! I use it mostly for music but it has so many things you can do on it such as; placing orders, asking any question for an immediate response, and the list goes on.. truly a great buy!

We are enjoying it! We continue to learn new things daily. Easy set up took less than 5 mins. Simple usage with amazon prime! We move it around the house.. should have bought a 2nd one. It was a hit at our party... and people naming songs to play... at random!

Bought the Dot as my first jump into home automation. Bought a home bridge to pair with the Dot. I can now use the Dot to control my home lights in all my rooms. The setup was easy with the Alexa app. The speakers are loud and good enough for a bedroom. It paired easily to my wifi. Amazon is constantly updating the app and Alexa so it should get better.

I bought the Dot for a bedroom as I have an Echo in the family room and love it. Also bought an Anker Soundcore Bluetooth speaker (not at Best Buy) which stays connected as long as a Bluetooth connection is present. Sounds good and the Dot performs wonderfully.

I have dots all over my house! There's one in every room! The sound isn't great if your looking for a real sound system but as far as the bedrooms and bathrooms, it's perfect. They also can connect to any Bluetooth speaker for a louder more quality sound.
