After buying the full sized ECHO I decided that the ECHO DOT would be perfect for my bedroom. I have found Alexa to be invaluable for creating shopping and to-do lists, playing my favorite music, updating me on weather forecasts...and much, much more. I recently bought 3 more DOTS to give as Christmas presents!!

We have slowly enhanced our "Smart Home" functions by adding Amazon - Echo Dot (2nd Generation) throughout the entire house. Now, where ever I am in the house, I can voice command lights, fans and even coffee maker to go on or off. Added feature is the "Drop in" function. Like having an intercom in every room.

Purchased this just as an impulse along with the WeMo dimmer. They work great so far, there is about a 1-2second delay between the WeMo and Alexa but being that I don’t have to get up and flip the light switch anymore is just fantastic or pure laziness either way it’s great It does take some time to get Alexa up and running to whatever the apps are you want her to run. But once the initial setup is done she might serve a bigger purpose.

Still learning about the features and skills. I like that it ties many of my smart home features together, eliminating the need to open different apps to control them. you can change the temperature on your thermostat anywhere in earshot of alexa, turn on lights and smart switches. so far the only things I have that it won't control is Chamberlain door opener (myQ) and my insignia smart plugs. I think that this will affect the items you will buy in the future as you will want to control them from this device. It has many "skills" that you will find entertaining in the app section in settings. If you are thinking of getting one check out the many YouTube videos. I found them very helpfull. You will want to buy several of these to spread around your home. you can get three of these on sale for about the same price as one Google home. I chose this over Google home because of Google sometimes loosing interest and abandoning their products. I had 4 Google tvs, where is that now? it was far superior to Android smart tv and tv's like roku and fire tv.

Fun entertaining great sound. Lots of great functions. even as an alarm clock. Has games trivia ..i tell Alexa to meow and my cats go crazy... listen to i header radio. For the price will worth it

I bought an Amazon echo a few months ago and loved it so much I bought another one. I purchased a smart switch too and linked it to my echo. I have my bedroom lamp plugged into it. After getting into bed I say, "Alexia, turn the light off", and the light goes off. No more reaching for the lamp to turn it off.

I can get today’s headlines while doing my makeup, I can get the weather forecast while I’m picking out my clothes, I don’t have to search through playlists to play my favorite song, and (don’t tell anyone, but) I get my joke of the day from my Echo Dot every morning. Alexa, where have you been all my life?!?!

The echo dot is very user friendly. Easy to set up and then very easy to use. I’m always amazed at all you can do with Alexa. She’ll tell jokes and tell stories and play a game with the kids called which door. All this in addition to the more normal functions such as telling the time/weather/current news etc.

Alexa, play classical music. Alexa, add milk to my grocery list. Alexa, turn off the Christmas lights. Alexa, turn on the master bedroom lights. Alexa, set the upstairs heat to 70. Alexa, wake me up tomorrow morning at 6. Alexa, how many tablespoons are in six ounces of butter? Is there anything she can't do? Probably. But paired with a good Bluetooth speaker, Phillips Hue lights, and Samsung smartthings, she sure has become an addition to our house. We are slowly adding these to all the rooms of our house. Only missing highly requested feature is for the Echos to pair together and play house-wide music, synchronized across multiple Echos. The hardware is there, Amazon just needs to deliver via a software update.

Amazon has created a pretty neat ecosystem around Alexa, the digital assistant that appears on the Echo devices. The Echo dot is a great addition. I purchased this in addition to already having a full size Amazon Echo in my house. I use the Dot in the basement. One of my favorite features of the Echo line is the integration with smart home devices. So I can say, "Alexa, turn off the basement," and all my connected light bulbs in the basement will turn off. The speaker and microphone on the Dot are pretty impressive given its size. I haven't had any trouble with either. You can also connect the Echo via an aux cable to a more powerful speaker if you would like. All in all, this is a great tool for the smart home.

The echo is small and can be placed out of sight but yet it is still powerful and gets the job done.

I am amazed at the many things Alexa can do. I use the Echo for music, weather, time, timer and alarm. One night on a lark, I said "Good Night" to Alexa and she said good night and hoped I slept well. I can also place Amazon orders on the Echo. I am getting emails from Amazon on different things Alexa can do.

First you need to install the Amazon Alexa app, then follow the instructions to set up the Echo Dot. The set up is very simple and easy. Takes a couple of minutes is all. Then it's ready to go. Play games, set reminders, listen to music, get information, many uses and fun to use. I'm happy with my purchase.

Bought two of these to add in various rooms around our house. This is the perfect addition to the Echo Show we already have. They all sync effortlessly and can control our lights/TV/Amazon music. We also use them as an intercom when people are in different rooms and don't want to yell throughout the house.

Echo dot is a great buying because it simplifies your life by giving you a lot of information (weather, music, coming shows, etc) as you command it. Alexa is very user friendly and polite. She is brutally honest, if she does not know about something you ask, she tells you right away...not like some people.

It can do lots and lots of things... I mostly use it to ask what the weather is... other fun capabilities include: adding things to my calendar, setting reminders, hands-free kitchen timers, playing music, getting wikipedia pages. I've purchased 3 so far, and wouldn't be surprised if I end up with more!

Another gadget you don't need but makes everyday tasks so much easier. I love that it's compatible with third party accessories so you are not limited to the brand. This version (echo dot) is great if you already have a bluetooth speaker you want to continue using. Setup is easy and using it was even easier.

Got one for my Granddaughter at Christmas, she loved it so much I had to get one! Now I have two, one in living room, one in bed room. Great timer, great for alarms, weather, music, just about anything!

I have had a full size Alexa for over year and enjoy the ability to control my lights, and provide updates and work as a bluetooth speaker. I decided a Dot would be great for the bedroom. Set up was a breeze, and it flawlessly synced up to the main Echo. And the speaker is pretty good considering its size.

The dot is small and hooks up to my receiver easily to gain sound on my surround system. The sound utilizing the dot speaker is ok for a bedroom, but I have mine hooked up to other Bluetooth speakers.
