I have purchased 4 of these for my house and another 6 for christmas gifts. I have paired with philips hue lights and love that I can turn on and off light by voice command. Can always use alexa to make calls, listen to music and answer questions as well as my alarm clock. I highly recommend this product.

I purchased this for a Christmas gift because I have one and love it. The price was great because it was on sale. The Echo Dot is easy to use and pairs with my Ultimate Ears Megaboom, though a speaker is not necessary. I like that there are a number of uses for it and I can holler across the room to give commands and get information. It's better than Siri because I don't have to press a button to ask questions or give commands.

Alexa is great. Accurate. Responsive. Do not buy this to listen to music UNLESS you connect a 3.5MM cable to a nice speaker or use to connect to a SONOS speaker. The sound is too ‘tinny’. Other than that, these things are awesome. Especially if you have smart devices and want to pursue using her Skills.

I went in with very limited knowledge about this product other than it was the must have for the techie in my household. I bought this for my wife for Christmas and it has been a great addition! I am able to turn off lights around my house by simply asking Alexa (please note that I have special light switches that can be remotely controlled by an app), and Alexa can control my nest when I get a little too cold but am way too lazy to pick up my phone. Alexa is a great assistant and honestly a lot more personable than Siri. I highly recommend Alexa. On a side note, during Christmas Alexa would read "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" for free as part of a Holiday Amazon Promotion. My daughter loved it.

A device that you didn't know you were missing until till you got one. I haven't even scratched the surface and I am already I'm pressed and sold. So much that after purchasing the first one I returned to the store and purchased 2 more. An amazing accent to your home, life and a great gift for anybody.

The Echo Dot is very easy to set up. We went with the smaller Dot because we already have a great Bluetooth speaker, and figured we could use this through the speaker. That part is not as easy as it sounded. We’ve found that we somewhat lose control of the volume operating this way. As we add more smart home products, I think the Exho Dot will become more and more useful. At the current price of $29, it’s a great time to buy.

I love Alexa by amazon so easy to setup and works flawlessly every time just about very rarely messes up no updates to worry about this product is one of the best inventions the world has ever seen. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to voice control their smart home. So easy anyone can do it!

works just like advertised. however, i wouldn't shop at the muncie indiana store. stood in there for 30 minutes and not one salesperson or whatever they call themselves waited on me. had questions regarding 1st gen to 2nd gen items on the alexa line. go to another best buy, this ones service is horrible.

Purchased an echo dot a while back and I been thinking about getting another one or a echo device. the mic is great and is able to hear from far away, the integration with smart home equipment, garage door opener, harmony remote, alarm system, hue lights etc is incredible and extremely useful. Highly recommended Only thing I don't like is that it does not work with google music and does not have a wake up with music station.

I've had the full size Echo for a while but wanted something for the bedroom. The Dot is perfect. I use it to play music but also started using it as my daily alarm clock. No complaints at all.

I got an echo dot free with a Bose Revolve+ speaker purchase. First thought was that it was a gimmick and that it would sit in a drawer somewhere. Three weels later, I now have 4 dots and 1 echo, smart lights and smart plugs all over the house and plan to add more to the system. I use it to play music, make shopping lists, get the time, the weather. I ask it questions I used to ask Google on my tablet. I turn on lights, dim lights. I ask it to remind me of things I have to do, of appointments. I use it as it as an intercom in the house and on and on. There is a learning curve with the dot, and I am still leaning. The future is here now. Love the dot and all it can do.

I have four of these around the house, they are awesome to listen to music, set timers (kitchen area) and listen to music in kitchen. Have in the bathroom to listen to music, get news etc. Great gift, Christmas is coming.. there is always a birthday... get one (or more) today! The price is right too.

I purchase this for my son room so he can control all the light with voice control. He was able to setup without any issue. now he using it for alarm clock, listen to music and a lot of other stuff.

Easy to setup. Connected to my phone easily. Make sure you use many skills of Alexa. I have enabled some of the skills and has worked wonderfully so far. Connected my TP-Link smart plug with echo dot and setup was a breeze. Many detailed instructions and skill set up videos are available in YouTube.

Great little device. Like having the internet at the tip of your tongue. Ask and you get an answer. I was hesitant about hearing someone can accidentally order things just by saying Alex order... but you can turn that function off or add extra securities. Sound only ok but it's the dot and not it's big brother that has better speakers. However you can connect an external speaker via cable or bluetooth so not a big deal.

Dot works well as a digital companion answering most questions. Play most music you ask for (except songs in other languages) using Amazon Music which I totally recommend with it. It is far far better than Google Home 1. Connects with external Bluetooth speaker 2. Understands voice better 3. Plays great music (with Amazon Music) 4. Has interesting apps to load Totally recommend to people looking for a talking mate..

My whole house is on Alexa. I have one in the bedroom, living room, and kitchen. I can play the same music throughout the house. I don't have to yell to be heard, like I did when I just had one device. This one is for the guest room, now my guests can control their lights, play music, etc. LOVE IT!

Got this as a birthday present for my technologically-challenged baby boomer mom (disrepect not intended, and no offense intended)... she loves the thing more than me! Have heard her call it my name on a couple of occasions! I'm a little miffed, but it was an awesome gift since it makes her happy!

I've been very pleased with Echo overall, so much so I now own 3. I keep one in the basement so that when down there it's easy to get questions answered and listen to music while exercising. The one in the living room currently is used to turn lights on and off throughout the 1st floor. The one in the bedroom connects to a nice pair of bluetooth speakers for late night listening. I still plan to further expand the remote control capabilities to thermostats and other lights. Once you get a bit used to it and expand your own knowledge of all the services it can provide it makes it really worth the money and the Dot is a steal at it's sale price. I bought 3 more to give out for Christmas presents.

I prefer this over the amazon echo. It is small and it understands my commands better with my smart switches verses the full size echo. I had my echo in the den and the dot in my bedroom. But I changed locations because the dot is much better at understanding verbal commands with my smart devices.
