I initially purchased this as a demonstration for an Internet of Things workshop for my customers, but am having fun with it as a device to use occasionally throughout my personal life as well. I'm still learning all the stuff I can do with it, but it's fun to experiment with, too!

WE ACTUALLY HAVE THE TALLER ONE. WE BOUGHT THE DOT FOR MY MOM LAST YEAR AND THIS ONE FOR MY MOTHIER IN LAW THIS YEAR. TEHY LOVE THEM. MY MOM SAYS SHE DIDN'T KNOW HOW SHE GOT ALONG WITHOUT IT BEFORE. OUR KIDS USE IT FOR HOMEWORK. WE ASK IT ABOUT THE WEATHER, ETC. EXTREMELY HANDY!

We had a lot of fun since we purchased this product and put it in our living room. My kids love it. It can play tricks with kids, answer some silly questions. It can play music with sound quality. Even you don't wanna use it to make purchase online, it is a cool toy in the house.

Don't go in expecting everything from this little device. That said, the voice recognition is fairly accurate. We use it mostly for its music integrations and we have it paired with a Logitech Harmony Hub. Between these two devices, I can control my tv almost entirely remote free.

I had doubts about this functionality. It exceeded my thoughts. I can control several things around the house, illuminate the path at night,control temperatures, etc. I am buying more to have them around the house and expand the automation to control it ALL with this hockey puck

I bought this echo dot as a two for one deal. I got a Harmony hub remote along side the echo dot and they are a great pair. The echo dot was free with the purchase of the Harmony hub. I have to admit I was a bit concerned about what area to place the echo dot, I placed mine in our living room to power on our tv and power off the tv. It works as advertised along side an apple tv and Blu-ray player.

Got this for my boyfriend and he loves it. Easy to use, understands what you're saying 10x better than Siri. Multifunctional with other Amazon products. Overall, great product.

This amazon echo dot is amazing. There isn’t enough space on this review to discribe this device. Got it hooked up to Bluetooth speaker. Amazing sound for inexpensive combo. Combined with amazon prime account, you can find almost any song or music you wish. I’m 71 and love it.

Not much smaller in diameter but you can tell. Much more glossy in appearance. Voice pick up and sound quality are what you would expect from the budget model echo. Got it to take advantage of the new multi echo grouping feature for streaming music to several at the same time.

First Amazon product, very impressed with the quality of the dit. Easy setup and right out of the box their are many uses. Listening to music, setting alarms, get news updates, etc..

Got the Echo Dot because it has both bluetooth and a headphone jack. I wanted to be able to stream my own personal music from my iPod/computer/etc whenever I wanted Honestly the commercials make it look better than it really is. It doesn't answer that many questions. Its best questions are the kinds the instruction booklet suggests I'm excited to see how this product will evolve over time and hope they bring the headphone jack to the more expensive models as well, that they improve Alexa's search results, and maintain their bluetooth feature Until then I'm kind of ehh. Speaker is alright but not as good as Echo or Tap. Fun throwaround item if you just want a cheap speaker you can travel easily with and want to play with its features. it's why I got it. I just want an affordable speaker I can sometimes use to toy with voice controlled apps. If I want to search something I'll just google it on my phone or computer

What a great little device. This is the third Echo in our home, my wife has a Dot in her studio, we have a full-size model in the kitchen and I bought this Dot for my office. It replaces a shelf-style mini stereo set which because of its location, never got very good reception with its antenna. The Dot is so much smaller, and by streaming off of iHeart, I have many more listening options and the sound is always sharp and clear.

I have only used the Dot a few days, but I am very impressed with the things it can do and how well it does them. There is a learning curve to setting it up and getting the voice commands correct, but once you do, there are many handy chores it can perform. Excellent product.

We have absolutely fallen in love with this product! It took me about 5 minutes to set up and most of that was just waiting for my Wi-Fi connection to sync up. The corresponding app is the most user friendly I have seen in a while. Give this a try! You won't be dissapointed!

I bought this at Best Buy as a Thanks Giving offer for $29.99. For this price it is worth it. I am setting alarms, alerts, asking to play Amazon Music (Amazon has an offer going on for 0.99$ - each month for 3 months). You can also use this as a dictionary or ask any general questions like "How is the Weather ?" , "Top Trending News" etc.. Guys, buy this before the price bumps to 49.99$.

Really like the Alexa dot so far. It is still new to us & we need to learn a lot about it. Actually, we need a 10 year old to teach us all the short cuts this little device is capable of. We do have fun with it from saying Good Morning & learning what happened on that day, to telling us jokes of all kinds when we enabled that feature & also playing some games with her. Otherwise, we are still learning how to use her & make her smarter from the skills that you have to enable so she can answer our questions & also teach us from the skills when we DO ask her a question. We probably aren't doing something right but we are giving this little dot a chance to get to know us & also us getting to know Alexa better. Anyway, I still like the Amazon Dot. It's just taking us longer than most people cuz we are probably use to the old school ways and that is our problem, not the dot's. Alexa is a lot of fun & she can be funny too.

I purchased 3 Echo Dots and 2 Echo's for Christmas. They basically do the same thing exact. The Echo is just bigger, which means it sounds better (bigger speaker). Get a few smart plug-in adapters or smart light bulbs and utilize IFTTT to create a smart home on top of having a freakin' know-it-all in just about every room. Pretty entertaining while also being a handy addition to the home.

This product is a lot of fun. I use it mainly to listen to online music and radio talk shows from Tunein and Pandora. I use to stream from my cell phones and after purchasing this Echo Dot, I have not use my cell phones yet. It is very convenient to use. Just plugged it in in the middle of my 2,300 + Sq Ft home and I can listen thru my Bluetooth headphones. I can either use voice command on the Dot or, if I'm away, use the app to make it do want I want done. I wish I can use voice command using BT headset. I also just ordered some items from Amazon using my computer. After completing the order I tried to ask the Dot about the status and I got an update right away. Talking about convenience by not having to log in to the computer to check the status. Setting it up is very easy. Setting up BT devices sometimes takes effort. The app, however, is very slow using Wireless AC router. Overall it's a good and fun device.

Good little speaker for like the office or garage. Not very loud but overall good.

This is a great way to inexpensively add Alexa to more rooms. The speaker quality is clearly inferior to the full size Echo, but for basic Alexa functions it works fine. If you already have a Bluetooth speaker in your room, you can connect it to it for better audio quality.
