I believe I'm just scratching the surface of what the Dot will do but so far it has been easy and really fun to ask Alexa to do things or just ask questions. Just setup the Hue bridge and it works great with the Echo Dot. Also have my Bose SoundTouch connected. Works great.

I don't feel like I can do anything here my iPhone 6s i always have on me can't. Voice control is better than Siri but not by that much. Unless you are going for the smart home or buy several for the whole house I don't really recommend the concept. That being said, product itself works well wish it was a little louder.

Alexa has changed the way my wife and I do things around the house. Whether its communicate room to room (Drop in), or turn off the lights and turn on the fan before bed. The echo is extremely responsive and has even learned its role as a nursery rhyme player for my son.

We love this item! We bought it for our toddler after he abused ours to death. It was such a great gift for him since he can now ask his own alexa to tell him flatulence jokes, instead of us. As parents, there are only so many flatulence jokes you can hold in your brain.

This is a great little product! I love it as well as my kids 2/3/12. I have it manage my lights, music, weather, travel times to work and much more. I love that it manages my shopping list as well which I can pull up on the app from my phone while I'm at the store.

I have the large Echo and got this Echo Dot for my bathroom. I listen to the news in the morning and for music when I shower. I absolutely love it. I'm not even sure I needed the larger one. This one sounds just fine for my use. I recommend one for every room of the house!

When Best Buy dropped the Amazon Dot price down to $29.95 for the Christmas season it became a no brainer to buy them as Christmas gifts for members of my family. I already purchased one for myself so I knew what a great product it is. Buy before the price goes back up.

I purchased the Echo dot, but unfortunately I returned it and exchanged it with the google home mini. The commands on the echo were very limited and always had to activate new skills on the app to make sure it worked to it’s full potential. The google home mini is better in my opinion and has more options. The only good thing about the echo is that you can purchase things from amazon.

I went from not believing in the voice recognition technology to do things around your home, to buying 3 of these in less than a month. I love all the stuff that can be done with it. Plus it gets updated all the time so there’s always something new to try. Awesome system

Both of my daughters have one. They both love them, and as with the Echo, the Dot's set up was very easy. The Apps allow them to add/subtract whatever they like with ease. Bluetooth speaker connection was a breeze, and makes it easy for them to listen to their Amazon Radio stations. The only complaint is the alarm is not very loud. They use it to supplement their alarms to wake up.

I got interested in the Echo Dot after helping a friend reset his original Echo up (he'd changed to Uverse and his Echo couldn't connect due to the default WPA & WPA2 security). A main reason I bought the Dot was to use with Smartthings hub for lighting control, and also control the TV with the Logitech hub, in addition to the handy things Alexa does on her own. Overall it works well, I now have two Echo Dots, which gives good coverage in our home. So instead of fiddling with my iPhone I just tell Alexa to dim the lights and turn on the tv! I bought two as birthday gifts for relatives who both went on to buy as gifts for others.

The Echo Dot is great. It's especially great if you have other smart home products. It allows you to control all your smart home products with the sound of your voice as well as other Amazon products. Highly recommend and will probably get more for other rooms in my home.

Plug and Play... Picked up for Christmas and still learning. Picked up with Arlo Camera planning on adding the Alexa Video unit for the Kitchen next Gen! Amazing what we can do now but they seem to be exploding with capabilities moving into the future... and I remember B&W TV's with Rabbit ears UHF/VHF and Rotary Phones... Come along way Baby! As George Jetson said "Look out Elroy!"

Great sound, the only thing is figuring out how to play louder when connected.

I already owned the dot and was satisfied with the quality and functionality, so purchased one as a gift for my dad. He is using to turn on lights inside the house with the WeMo device and play music. Next is to set up a WiFi thermostat that he can control with echo.

We already had the regular echo but decided to get one of these for our master bathroom. Works great. I read several reviews that we'd need a separate bluetooth speaker for listening to music but the built in speakers work just fine in the small space of the bathroom.

I'm sure this has uses that I haven't figured out yet, especially if you have an automated home. We use it to ask things like measurement conversions and occasionally the weather. I enjoy it in the morning to listen to the news and sometimes stream music to a Bluetooth speaker. Otherwise it's it's dormant. Sometimes it speaks up even though it has not been addressed. Kind of weird.

Bought 2 more as Xmas gifts. This thing still has a couple kinks (I won't say problems) in it but that has to do with training. Invest the time as Alexa will get better and better. I didn't do this at first. Then invested more time and she'll get better at recognizing your voices in the house. I set her up in the living room and all of a sudden she'll answer a non asked question. Evidently she heard her name or something close on tv and responded. I hope the developers continue to make her smarter and maybe even a little "MORE AWARE" Great product at a fantastic price. Wanna see a big number. Ask her how much the earth weighs.
