Very responsive and works well. I purchased the dot purely for control of smarthome devices and it does the job.

This DOT is a great little companion to my ECHO! It sits on my nightstand and is wonderful for updates on news, weather, and playing music. I find the sound quality to be very acceptable. Definitely a 5-Star rating!

I got this as a gift for my wife for Christmas to put in the kitchen. We have an Amazon Echo in the bedroom, but we wanted one in the kitchen to listen to music, ask questions, and set timers for cooking items. Works great!

This is great add on to the Alexa plus for other rooms

I bought this one for the kitchen. Comes in very handy. We also play with it when company comes over. Bought a couple of the buttons to go with it. It was fun. But apparently I didn't buy enough for everyone ;)

Ok, maybe she isn't my bff when I need someone to help me move furniture or something like that, but I'm finding Alexa to be a handy thing to have around :D She tells me the time, turns my smart lights on and off, and even gave me a weather report the other day when I wasn't sure if I should wear my snow boots or if I was safe with my usual sneakers. I'd give her a full 5 stars but even though I try to always speak clearly she still sometimes misunderstands me, plus I have discovered she has a language all her own that may be compatible with mine but is not as flexible (creating additional misunderstandings). And, although the Dot is not particularly expensive, I find that my life is fairly uncomplicated and so I don't actually talk to her much except for the lights, and the occasional other question I would normally just Google (but Alexa enables me to be lazy and not even crack open a browser). I suspect she will become more valuable the longer we live together, if I give our relationship time to fully blossom and really learn her potential. ;)

I bought this for my dad on fathers day. My dad is a tech kind of guy. This piece of technology is good for people that has the gadget that goes with it. Its pretty cool to have a voice activated to do things for you.

I love being able to control Sonos and my Logitech Hub!

I bought and kept this Generation 2 Alexa because it worked right out of the box. It immediately connected to my 5.1 Hhz tri-band ASUS AC3200 router. It's a fun and useful item to have adding a bit extra automation to my life. (Not that I cannot do without). It can wake me up, makes lists for me, create reminders, stream media, podcasts & music from Pandora & Amazon Music, weather and other useful things I have yet to discover. What I'd like it to do is stream music from my NAS. Maybe later if the firmware gets such an update. I originally bought and returned the Gen 3 version, but it would not connect to my router after many, many retries. But the Gen 2 worked right out of the box.

Can't beat the connectivity this provides to you home!
