I have a new Bluethooth surround speaker system (speaker bar, sub and 2 rears) and this worked flawlessly in setup. What's great too is after the initial Bluetooth discovery, if I have had the speaker system on another input (TV or another device) each time I want to re-connect the echo dot, I can just simply say "Alexa, connect to Bluetooth". BOOM. So fun to be able to control music selections with a voice request. Works well with my Phillps HUE lights too. I walk in and just say "Alexa, lights on" or "Alexa, dim lights to 20%". Never failed once! Looking to train it to do even more with color scenes on the lights and eventually a thermostat too. The Dot can stay nicely tucked up on the shelf unseen. Visitors think we're on a StarTrek ship!

I picked this up while on sale during the holidays. It is a great entry level echo. I use it every day. As an alarm clock, radio, information center, the list goes on. How did we live before Alexa?

The Echo Dot is just as good as the original echo. It does everything the original does only at a much less price. The speaker is not as good but works fine and I have it set up to another speaker by blue tooth. I love it.

Honestly the only thing that this can do kind of well is setting alarms and timers. I got one of those thinking that I would be able to answers some questions but it never seems to know the answers. I recently had the chance to use a Google home mini (which is the same price as an echo) and I was amazed at how many times it was Able to do what I wanted. The only reason I could possibly imagine that you would get this over a Google home mini is because it has a headphone jack and the home mini doesn't. But even then there are ways of connecting speakers to the home mini without a headphone jack not to mention that you can't do a pretty simple DIY headphone jack for the mini.

Picked up on sale for $29 to use in the garage paired with a Bluetooth speaker. My other Dot has been a mainstay in the living room for more than a year so it was a no-brainer to stick with what works.

I have 2 of the dots and 2 full size echoes. They are connected to my Hue lighting, Nest thermostat, and deliver music, news and weather when needed. Alexa has become a member of the family. Great purchase at a grest price.

Works well with other smart devices and fun fun to use.

Like all of the features offered by device. Fun to use.

Alexa is a great addition to making your home a smart home. If you don't have any other items that are compatible, it's still a useful item. You can call an Uber, order pizza, etc. without anything but your Amazon account!

After getting the larger echo and seeing what it could do, I decided to get one of these (the "dot") for our bedroom. It's an alarm clock, gives the news, sports, weather, tells jokes, plays music, etc. Fun & functional.
