Ok I love this thing! I hear my news everyday, listen to music, it reads me my kindle books, plays ocean sounds at night when I'm going to sleep, can make a shopping list and that is just a few things I love about the Dot

Works as it is supposed to. Well designed but I wish they would make Alexa smarter. She currently isnt very helpful with questions. Some are obvious and should be easy to answer. Works great to turn on/off lights and to play music on demand, set timers/alarms, etc. Hoping they keep improving it with over the air updates.

Good enough to purchase additional Echo Dots as gifts.

Great if you want to try out the a smart assistant. Not a good idea to use as a primary speaker for music alone.

Great piece of tech for the money. Connects to my Hue bulbs to allow for voice control when I am not near my Siri-enabled devices. Hooked to a portable speaker via the headphone aux cable and produces great sound. iHeart radio offers free access to my local FM channels, so this is a good option when not near a receiver.

Picked up on sale for $29 to use in the garage paired with a Bluetooth speaker. My other Dot has been a mainstay in the living room for more than a year so it was a no-brainer to stick with what works.

I bought and kept this Generation 2 Alexa because it worked right out of the box. It immediately connected to my 5.1 Hhz tri-band ASUS AC3200 router. It's a fun and useful item to have adding a bit extra automation to my life. (Not that I cannot do without). It can wake me up, makes lists for me, create reminders, stream media, podcasts & music from Pandora & Amazon Music, weather and other useful things I have yet to discover. What I'd like it to do is stream music from my NAS. Maybe later if the firmware gets such an update. I originally bought and returned the Gen 3 version, but it would not connect to my router after many, many retries. But the Gen 2 worked right out of the box.

Very inexpensive way to get into the whole voice control thing. Easy to set up, voice recognition is fine. Only downside so far is commands have to be perfect to get a response. Kind of like learning a new language.

Love this Echo purchase! Speaker is sufficient enough for use in one room; however, if listening to music in another room I would add an additional Bluetooth speaker for better sound . Overall a great gift for the holiday.

I picked this up while on sale during the holidays. It is a great entry level echo. I use it every day. As an alarm clock, radio, information center, the list goes on. How did we live before Alexa?

I like it as much as the big one other than it wont play though the connected speaker on play every where mode.

Got this as a gift and didn't see the need but it has been a fun thing to have. My daughter loves asking Alexa questions and I've used it to play music, which is very handy. Fun gadget to have and the price is reasonable.
