The echo dot is the cheaper yet fully functional cousin of the Amazon echo. This device can immediately make your house smarter and quickly order from your Amazon account. Hook it up to your Amazon Firestick or TV box and your TV and your possibilities are limitless.

There is so much you can do with it. Play music, get news, set alarms and timers, make calls, play games, get recipes, control smart devices, etc. Great investment.

I'm sure I have not used all the features but lots of different options. Play music, games, weather, news, and my kids love asking Alexa questions. Easy to set up.

Occ comes disconnected from the internet. I like the size. It has good sound.

I use the Dot along with tp-link bulbs and plugs and can so easily tell the Dot to turn on/off the household lights. I find the timer and alarm features very useful and the kids are always asking it questions or playing music. Great purchase for the whole household!

I have had an Amazon Echo since it came out and i Love it. I recently purchased a Google home and found at this moment it is not as good as the Amazon echo I'm sure the Google home Will get better over time but right now Alexa is the best. The sound that comes out of the Amazon Echo is better then the Google home plus you can connect Bluetooth to the echo but not the Google home. This black Friday (2016) I purchased another Echo and a few Echo Dots (Dots are a great price) and i could't be more happy.

Purchased two of these for my teenager to use at home and one for the my two older daughters to share in their college apartment. They love it. It is great to simply listen to call up their favorite tunes, find out the joke of the day, or to break the tie when it comes to a specific answer. We haven't fully explored all the functions but love what we have experienced thus far.

For such a small size it doesn't sound bad. I really got this to extend my Alexa network to multiple floors of my house, mostly for listening to Pandora. While it doesn't sound as good as the Echo, the Dot sounds pretty good. Better than the old radio it replaced.

I have an echo upstairs but wanted one for another room. They connect seamlessly and now I get my news, music or weather updates anywhere in the house w the ease of Alexa. Obviously the dot doesn’t have the same sound quality as an echo but it’s still a great buy

Fun for the whole family and it was very easy to set up. Love that you can have four set up in one house. I plan on going back to Best Buy and buying a few more it makes a great gift for anyone. Comes in two different colors. Will definitely recommend to friends.

WE HAVE BOTH GOOGLE AND ALEXA, AND I WILL SAY THAT WE USE ALEXA MUCH MORE. I'VE FOUND THAT ALEXA IS EASIER TO ADD OTHER HOME PRODUCTS TO IT THAN GOOGLE, SUCH AS PHILIPS HUE. THE APP IS EASIER TO CONFIGURE TOO. HENCE THE REASON WHU I'M ADDING THE DOT TO OUR HOUSE.

My sons each have one now. They use it for alarm clocks, weather, music, jokes, night time sleeping sounds (Beach, fire, rain, etc). Set up was easy. And prefer the echo vs Google bc we have amazon prime. Can’t use amazon prime music on google.

I ALREADY OWN 2 ECHO DOTS, THIS ONE WAS PURCHASED AS A GIFT. ONE I HAVE HOOKED UP TO A ONKYO STEREO AMP THROUGH MY PC IN MY OFFICE AT HOME. IT ALLOWS ME TO EASILY PLAY ANY OF MY MUSIC, I TUNES, AMAZON, PANDORA, AND SIRIUS AS WELL AS THE MANY OTHER ECHO ABILITIES

Mom's Surprise is exactly what she wanted. Loves being able to get Alexa to turn lights on/off with her voice, setting reminders, alarms, getting news/weather. The little speaker is more powerful then you think but having an external speaker for music is a must.

i purchased Amazons Echo Dot to be able to voice activate my Philips hue lights. the setup is very easy and the app helps add skills to alexa i can turn on and off my lights with it, it reminds me of things on my calendar and will tell u of current events and weather by just saying "alexa whats up" it plays music and u can buy items by just telling it ,it can add tings to your list , it even reads the daily masses and so much more.i was very surprised with how much alexa does in my home and can do with the right appliances. and at only $40.00 its the most affordable unit of its kind all others are over $100.00,

The echo dot has gone above and beyond what we have wanted it to do. Alexa is funny and sarcastic. I also bought the TP link plug that I will review. My wife has troubles getting around and turning lights on and off. So the Alexa app is awesome to help her out.

Such a cheap way to automate your home. For areas of your home where you don't need music or you may already have speakers (can connect via Bluetooth or plugin) this is the perfect solution. Just the same as the bigger echo but without the big built in speaker.

I purchased the dot to see what it was all about. It's actually really cool. I wake up and ask her "How's the weather?" It's very convienent when making my grocery list by simply asking her to add it to my shopping list. I was confused at first how to play the games and different activities with her, but you "download" the different apps you want to install on her via the app on your phone. Everyone who comes over wants to play with it and it's definitely a conversation starter.

What more is there to say, it works great and you can't beat the Christmas sale price. Hooked right up to my BT Bose speaker without any issues. Love these devices. Just buy it, you know you want it. :-). Don't worry, she doesn't hear everything you say - LOL

This has really worked for our daughter. We haven't used it much more than for the alarm, morning weather, and playing music, but our daughter loves bringing it to various rooms, and it's very convenient. Would definitely recommend it.
