I bought this device as a starter for getting into smart home things. Didn’t replace it until the next generation came out and it still works great in a different room 2 years later after buying.

The first dot i ever owned.. Made life easy when I could control other smart things with it - like, Hue lights, or listen to music without going through the playlist on my phone..

Love it. Will recommend to everyone. Money well spent.

It takes a little bit to get Alexa going. Needed to read several different reviews on line. They were helpful.

What can I say? Alexa is so much smarter than Siri. When I push and hold down the button to launch Siri, you have to wait a good bit before you can even speak. With Alexa you just say her name and say what you want.

This is a great buy if you have a lot of smart home devices to control. The voice recognition is pretty spot on and will understand what you say. My father has a japanese accent and it was able to pick up most of it (well the words he pronounced correctly). You can ask it almost anything and will give you an answer.

i have two i use one at home and one for my classroom

i like it but i just wished she linked to google because theres a lot of stuff i ask about that she cant find.

We love our Alexa. It provides so much entertainment.

The Echo dot is so cool and a lot of fun to use. I'm anxious to see if it really gets smarter as time goes on. It is able to recognize a difference between users voices and she will identify you by your name.

This product is brilliant. At the beginning, you won't find many things to do with it, but you learn that there are skills that you can activate and it becomes a wonder. So far, no issues with it, works like a charm.

Bought this to use at work and it hasn’t let me down.

My mom wanted this to use for various tasks and whatnot, but it's limited compared to what Google and Apple have to offer in the AI department and usefulness. So if you're heavy into amazon and want something cheaper and to use for a less advanced usage in your home/room/dorm/etc, then this is where to start.

I use this as my alarm clock, I set event reminders with it, play music through it and add items to my grocery list and amazon shopping cart with it too. She will even tell you a joke on command!

Love this little guy and you can't beat the price! Ask questions, get time and weather, ask Alexa to tell you a joke - many more fun stuff to explore with the Dot. For under $50, you can't go wrong...pick up one soon!

We love the Amazon Dot. It does exactly what it says it does and the price is very affordable. The feature we like the most is it is linked to our Amazon music app so our daughter can steam her music from it.
