What can I say? Alexa is so much smarter than Siri. When I push and hold down the button to launch Siri, you have to wait a good bit before you can even speak. With Alexa you just say her name and say what you want.

It takes a little bit to get Alexa going. Needed to read several different reviews on line. They were helpful.

This product is brilliant. At the beginning, you won't find many things to do with it, but you learn that there are skills that you can activate and it becomes a wonder. So far, no issues with it, works like a charm.

I love having the Echo Dot so I bought a second one to place in my living room. I can have Alexa turn on my outside Christmas lights and set reminders for me. Nice to have. Makes our lives easier.

We use this in my daughters room to play music for her at night when she sleeps and it is great! So easy to use and can control it from my phone as well! Love that is can zinc to your pandora too!

Bought this to use at work and it hasn’t let me down.

Works great and does exactly what it claims to do. That being said, the enthusiasm wears off quickly. Now I find myself only asking it how the weather is and to play music. I do have it hooked up to a speaker and I love that feature the best. I still might buy another for my living room just because they are so cheap.

I bought this device as a starter for getting into smart home things. Didn’t replace it until the next generation came out and it still works great in a different room 2 years later after buying.

I have a couple smart plugs and would turn on and off the lights using my phone. But I found myself looking for my phone before I went to sleep or taking it out of my pocket before I left the house every time I wanted to turn off the lights. So I bought the Echo Dot just to try it out and it is AMAZING!! It's a MUST HAVE!!!! I never have to use my phone to turn on or off the lights (I have Phillips Hue lights) again. I put a smart plug on my coffee maker so now I just tell Alexa to "Turn on coffee maker" and it starts making coffee in the morning before I get out of bed. My apartment is slowly turning into a smart home. I bought 2 more Dots and now I can be heard from anywhere. Turn on/off anything at anytime. Thank you Amazon for this beautiful device.

My mom wanted this to use for various tasks and whatnot, but it's limited compared to what Google and Apple have to offer in the AI department and usefulness. So if you're heavy into amazon and want something cheaper and to use for a less advanced usage in your home/room/dorm/etc, then this is where to start.

The Echo dot is so cool and a lot of fun to use. I'm anxious to see if it really gets smarter as time goes on. It is able to recognize a difference between users voices and she will identify you by your name.

Alexa is an alarm clock, music player, joke teller, news reporter...a great device to have in my home. I hooked up a good speaker, subscribed to Amazon music, and now can hear almost any song in a matter of 3 seconds.

Reason I got these is because I have a handful of LIFX smart lights and wanted to control them with my voice since they're not Apple HomeKit compatible. I have met and exceeded all expectations, I have two small children and like asking Alexa to talk about the secret door, listen to music and hear about the weather.
