Love this little guy and you can't beat the price! Ask questions, get time and weather, ask Alexa to tell you a joke - many more fun stuff to explore with the Dot. For under $50, you can't go wrong...pick up one soon!

It takes a little bit to get Alexa going. Needed to read several different reviews on line. They were helpful.

Works great and does exactly what it claims to do. That being said, the enthusiasm wears off quickly. Now I find myself only asking it how the weather is and to play music. I do have it hooked up to a speaker and I love that feature the best. I still might buy another for my living room just because they are so cheap.

I have a couple smart plugs and would turn on and off the lights using my phone. But I found myself looking for my phone before I went to sleep or taking it out of my pocket before I left the house every time I wanted to turn off the lights. So I bought the Echo Dot just to try it out and it is AMAZING!! It's a MUST HAVE!!!! I never have to use my phone to turn on or off the lights (I have Phillips Hue lights) again. I put a smart plug on my coffee maker so now I just tell Alexa to "Turn on coffee maker" and it starts making coffee in the morning before I get out of bed. My apartment is slowly turning into a smart home. I bought 2 more Dots and now I can be heard from anywhere. Turn on/off anything at anytime. Thank you Amazon for this beautiful device.

i like it but i just wished she linked to google because theres a lot of stuff i ask about that she cant find.

Alexa is an alarm clock, music player, joke teller, news reporter...a great device to have in my home. I hooked up a good speaker, subscribed to Amazon music, and now can hear almost any song in a matter of 3 seconds.

My mom wanted this to use for various tasks and whatnot, but it's limited compared to what Google and Apple have to offer in the AI department and usefulness. So if you're heavy into amazon and want something cheaper and to use for a less advanced usage in your home/room/dorm/etc, then this is where to start.

I bought the Original Amazon Echo and was very impressed with the system. When I purchased this version, I was very surprised to find out how good the sound quality was as well as how well it did. Overall a great buy!!

Reason I got these is because I have a handful of LIFX smart lights and wanted to control them with my voice since they're not Apple HomeKit compatible. I have met and exceeded all expectations, I have two small children and like asking Alexa to talk about the secret door, listen to music and hear about the weather. The Echo dot is so cool and a lot of fun to use. I'm anxious to see if it really gets smarter as time goes on. It is able to recognize a difference between users voices and she will identify you by your name.

We have two echoes and two dots in our house. We can fill our house with music. My husband also loves that it will give him ballgame scores and I like that I can get up to date weather. We have bought several as gifts.

Echo dot makes my home feel a little more futuristic.

Picked the dot up just to have some music in the kitchen. Really like it, get the weather and forecast every morning and enjoy the music. Good sound. Understands commands fairly well, still learning what to ask it.
