Easy to use. Helped our young one with fan/light automation in bedroom. Also story time. Music. And can pause her tv or play bedtime relaxing music. Great overall. Bought a few of these. One has started to lose connectivity randomly but the others are fine.

Easy to set up and use. If you wait until this stuff is perfected, you'll never pull the trigger. Plus, this is just $50, so nice low price point for dipping your toes into the IoT water.

hard to get used to using this product. more of an operator issue and not a device issue.

I love the Echo Dot! I've found such convenience in so may ways - especially as it comes to arming the system, setting alarms and timers, making lists, etc. I'm buying more for gifts!!

I already had a 3rd generation Echo Dot but I wanted another Dot for a different room. I originally had planned to plug this into speakers as it has headphone jack (Google Home Minis do not). I found a better place to use the newly purchased Echo Dot but that required using the internal speaker. I ultimately returned the 2nd gen Dot and purchased a 3rd gen Dot as the audio quality of the internal speaker is better. If you plan on using the Echo Dot with external speakers, save a few dollars and buy the 2nd gen. The 2nd gen is USB powered so you can power it with a standard USB changer, which I find to be handy.

This is a great device that you will wonder how you got on without after getting used to it just like a smart phone or email. The bigger device has better speakers so if you listen to a lot music get that as this also works as a bluetooth speaker otherwise this will do.

I purchased this as a curiosity, just to see how it worked. It works fine and It´s funny.

Bought for the wife for Christmas...best gift of the year! Big hit with the kids also. Haven't hook it up to any automation yet but that will come when more linked devices come on the market

Im a huge techie and when the amazon echo first released i jumped to get one! now this is an inexpensive alternative to make every room in my house alexa capable.$40 for the dot and then $179 for the full echo so it save $140. i do wish the speaker was louder and a bit more clear.

Being old school and wanting to do things my way got into my way. I had a rough time setting this up as directions seemed scattered with some missing, but with a lot of prayers and consulting with my friend Jack(Daniels of course) things finally came together and its working well..

Does what it says on the box, although a higher quality speaker would be nice. Picks up voice often from down the hall better than the 1st generation Echo in the same room! Alexa is still the widest ecosystem, too... Google is going big but it may already be too late.

right out of the box. set up was easy,and ready to use in about 10 minutes.i don't have to get my computer or tablet out and sign in to check traffic,weather,sports scores or listen to music

We love the Echo dot. My son has trouble sleeping so we got him one to use like a sound machine. Plus I can monitor his TV time even closer with the the smart plug and Alexa app.

We loved the Echo so much that we bought two of the Dots for other rooms in the house. Not a perfect science but it works 99 percent of the time and we just have fun with them all.

Amazon really has made a fun little thing here for a great price. I just wish Alexa had more answers. google has it all over Amazon on that. Hopefully that'll change.

We now 3 of these, and bought another one from Best Buy as a Christmas gift. Excellent purchase and so fun to ask questions! We are going to look into adding the game buttons next.

I enjoy this little thing. Ask it to play music, its on it. I ask it to give me a recipe or some fact on anything and she's got the amswer....most times. I really like the skills feature. I say good morning and a slew of different things happen. Its fun.

My son uses this all the time. He uses it in his bedroom most of the time but we use it when we entertain also. Great sound and performance for the size and price. Much better then expected.

Great product. I us it in the bedroom...white noise at night to help relax and as an alarm in the morning. Also fun to play Jeopardy on it as well as searching and playing music.

The Echo Dot was entirely new to me. It was like acquiring a new friend. It's amazing how you can ask it questions and get immediate answers. I'm still learning what all it can do.
