I actually bought the Echo Dot for my son. He loves it. He uses it to set reminders, alarms, listen to music...and all the other things 14 year olds do! Just remember to turn off the purchase options if a kiddo is the primary user! :)

I love my Alexa Echo. Honestly, having your own assistant for $30, why wouldn't you? The speaker quality isn't the greatest, I have mine connected to an Insignia soundbar which produces great sound quality. She is especially great for help with the school work like spelling a word. I also love the alarm on the device, it doesn't scare me when it goes off, just calms me into an awakened state. It's just a fantastic device that everyone should own and Amazon is constantly updating it to give it more features. Love it!

I wasn't sure that the Amazon Echo Dot was something I needed. I bought it because it was on sale and I wanted to see what everyone saw in the product. Surprised that I liked it as much as I did. Our family had fun playing games. Liked how the weather forecast was yours with only a command. My computer is slow and it would have taken longer to get the same result. Used it to listen to my music and radio. The sound was better than expected. Highly recommend you give the Amazon Echo Dot a try if you are hesitant to buy it.

For what it is Echo Dot is a nice introduction to Home automation. It can turn on smart appliances, answers simple questions, can give you morning news and weather briefing and as time goes by will likely add more functions. Why 4 star rating? That's because Bing, a search engine used by Echo Dot is pretty bad, except for finding simple information and tapping into Amazon environment. Google is a much better search engine and people should have a choice of which search engine they can use with device they purchased. Amazon and Google need to stop bickering and develop receprocal relationship before both like Microsoft end up in Anti-trust government lawsuit for blocking users from choosing which search engine they wish to use. If I had to purchase again I would choose Google device because of the search engine. If you want light entertainment, brief news and shallow search Echo will do the job nicely

Great device that answers most questions asked. She will tell you the weather or a joke. Plays music when requested and sounds good for the size. Works great with home automation like hue lights. We now have 4 in use throughout house.

Amazon’s Alexa! What more needs to be said? This product is great, especially at $29. The sound quality isn’t amazing but is worth every penny. You can always plug the dot into an external set of speakers using the aux output port!

The Echo dot works very well. so much so that we use the "Dot's" throughout the house. I've also incorporated the Alexa and Echo to control my home entertainment system. It's a very clever use of technology at a reasonable price.

I purchased this for my in-law who are somewhat technology challenged. And it definitely fit the bill. It's was a low cost purchased that introduces technology without the intimidation. Same functionality as the higher priced Echo.

I will be the Dad of the Year on Christmas. The Amazon Echo is a great product. I use my device to listen to music and to make me look smart when complete projects. This device does it all! Great Christmas Gift for any young adult!

The Amazon Echo Dot is a nice little device. Improve music quality by connecting to external speakers using Bluetooth or an audio cable. And it's very easy to connect with other smart devices. The Dot simply performs as advertised.

It’s such a helpful device and very easy to use ...and I’m not tech savvy at all . I’m so glad my son purchased it for our home. It has helped us gradually turn our home into a “smart home” by purchasing other compatible products .

The Echo Dot is awesome for your 2nd or 3rd Amazon Alexa device in bedrooms, kitchens, etc. I have a primary Echo for my main living room area since it's a better device (both from hearing commands and as a standalone speaker), but the Echo Dot has basically the same functionality in a smaller (and cheaper) footprint. You can even connect an external speaker to the Echo Dot to get better sound for those of us who listen to a lot of music on these devices. Look for a good deal price-wise on these and I would highly recommend.

As is/currently the Amazon Echo is a remarkable too that's compatible with other Smart devices, bridges etc. But all indications are that many additional things are a work in progress and I'm sensing that they haven't begun to scratch the surface of what's to come. As for the functions that currently exist; suffice it to say that I've purchased four (4) echos in order to place them strategically around my house to verbally control televisions, sound systems - even (Smart) lights. Although the device that I'm closest to implements my command(s).

I am trying to set up Amazon Echo Dot's in every room in so I can enjoy listening to music without blasting the entire house. I'm almost at my goal! Love this product! ALEXA never fails me and is always on point! Terrific product!

The Amazon Echo dot is simply fantastic for the value. It does everything the original, far more expensive Echo does, at 1/3 the cost. The speaker is fine for most environments. It will distort slightly at max volume, but performs as expected at this price point. It can easily be paired to Bluetooth or regular speakers if you need more volume. I have it paired to my stereo through Bluetooth but only if I want to listen to music with more volume. Most of the time its running using the built in speaker. Will buy more of these for other rooms for sure.

Since I run my home security hub through Alexa I control 90% of the home via voice commands or the app. I love the ability to change music change temp ask questions while at my desk, believe it or not it helps me be more productive
