I like this product very much and you can have a lot of fun just talking to it and getting info. It does lots of great things, BUT in order to take advantage of all it does be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars in upgrading your entire house in order to appreciate all it does. It's not as simple as Alexa turn on my lights. Oh no, you have to buy special bulbs and have a separate box that communicates with Alexa. As well as a really expensive replacement unit to work your thermostat at home. Plus garage door. By the time you buy all the stuff you need to become the apitomy of a lazy human being you have easily over $1000 invested. Is the Echo for $49 worth it? Yes. But don't believe for one second that you can fully enjoy this for $49.

The dot does everything the Echo does, but with the benefit of being able to pair it with a Bluetooth speaker! Fantastic add to my household. I can ask all kinds of things and get answers right away, or have it do things.

I got the echo dot for my grandparents for Christmas and they were so excited about all of its features and the ability to turn their house into a smart home. They particularly enjoy the size compared to the bigger Echo.

Can’t believe the sound that comes from this small speaker. Easy set up and works great for small living rooms or in any bedroom.

It does what you think it would do. I like the shopping list and use it to get the weather and control my smart thermostat but not much else. Has a lot of "skills" that can be added. My son loved it so he got the bigger one for his birthday. I'll buy the Google at home, try it and then use whatever one works best for me.

Love it! We have a total of 3 in our home. It doesn't matter if we are down stairs or upstairs it catches ur voice when we call for it. Definitely recommend this product to anyone. When we play music on it sounds great.

Bought two Echo Dots and they work GREAT!! One upstairs and one downstairs and so easy to hook up through the app. You can customize Alexa by changing the wake word and enable skills for it to do. So easy to hook to home. Vivint alarm does not unlock or turn off alarm due to safety which is GREAT but will lock doors set alarm, turn on and off the lamp module and all smart switches you may have. I highly recommend it. So easy and so convenient and options are unlimited. Where's my phone is also a major plus. Way to go Amazon!!!

I have dots, echos, and shows set up all through the house to help with a person recovering from a stroke. They can turn lights off and on with their voice. They can call for assistance if needed. they can turn the TV on or off and control volumes with voice. With the new SONOS app they can now control music and Audible.

I mainly use Alexa to control my Sonos speakers. So far so good with that feature. I will probably need to spend some time to figure out how else to make use of it but a nice new addition to my gadgets around the house.

Bought this for my daughter. Hard to buy for. She didn't know what it was but once it was setup, she can't live without it. Ensure you have Amazon prime to get fully functionality with music. Now my son wants one, badly.

we bought the Echo dot to interact with other amazon devices and to play music or get questions answered from Alexa. my kids love it and use it daily from asking the weather to playing whatever songs they want to hear.

How did we ever survive before Alexa?!?! Our kids enjoy her jokes, we enjoy the music, weather, news and the million other features it brings to our home. The sound isn't great, but for the money (especially when on sale) why would you buy the bigger version? We pair it with a Bluetooth speaker & the sound is awesome!

This is my first purchase of a smart hub device and the Amazon Echo Dot (2nd Gen) is extremely easy to set-up. So ar it works great for music and I'll be interested to see how smart devices integrate with the Echo Dot.

Bought this as a gift for my brother. It was so easy to set up & his kids right away were able to start asking Alexa questions & to play songs. He went out & bought one for each of his kids & I got some for myself. Alexa is great the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the volume & sound could be a little better.

This product is fun and convenient for those who really like technology. It’s just like having someone there to help you check out things, as well as turn your devices on and off automatically as desired. Really cool!

I purchased this for my husband on a recommendation from a friend. It's been so much fun being able to ask Alexa anything. It's super easy to set up. Although my husband wanted the Echo Dot, the whole family loves it.

I have my whole house set up with Alexa. Having the drop in function allows me to not have to yell for my kids. I can also drop in when I’m traveling to wake them up in the morning when they don’t answer their phones.

I have never wrote a review for anything before but this is one I thought would be a good time to start. I admit I am no tech guru but love technology. I already have the amazon echo, which to me is amazing. Now I got the dot a couple of days ago for in the bedroom. Hooked up a set of Logitech surround sound speakers to it and sounds just great. Turn the volume up and it will blow you away. For the price you can't beat it. To sum it up with everything you can do with these technology wonders they are simply amazing.
