You definitely need a speaker with this, it does not get loud enough to hear in any other room. I like to use it for music so it helps to have the speaker. Also, you can use the bluetooth to connect to your phone to play apple music.

Enjoy asking it questions and having it think about it.....I renamed mine so that we can use two of them in the same bedroom as our alarm clocks

I can work on my DIY projects while listening to my favorite tunes . I just tell Alexa to shuffle my playlist and its off to good tunes.

Just at a beginning stage with the smart house config, bought this inexpensive item to control specific items. Love the operation so far.

Those within a budget, get this echo because it does the same thing as the big echo and its loud enough. you dont need an additional speaker for this to work

This is a good upgrade. It's voice recognition turns on quicker than the first version. Volume control is now done with buttons instead of twisting the unit.

So far I mainly use it for music and to help entertain my granddaughter. I plan to do a lot more with it. I got it on sale and think it was worth the cost.

This is such an amazing peice of smart home tech. You can control your smart devices, set alarms, ask questions and get an instant answer, it's awesome!

I have an echo plus and I bought 2 echo dots. easy to set up and synchronize . Setting up some smart home devices with a breeze. Alexa works great.

Man if you have Alexa in the house, adding one of these to the whole system is awesome. Allows you not to have to shout. And easy set up!

We use this for music. Connects to our surround sound. Set timers for when cooking. Weather news. Best purchase ever. We have two dots and an echo.

We have an Echo and these dots work great for secondary rooms. Speaker probably worth primary status for music playing. Echos work better for that. But for commands, dots work well. I haven't scratched the surface of what Alexa can do.

Easy to set up even works well on dsl lines. Speaker quality surprisingly well considering the size. Can also be used as a hub for WiFi lights too.

Originally I bought this for my office. I don’t want it to leave home! I use it as alarm clock, weather, music...., I want another for the kitchen!

It defitnetly made a great Christmas gift. My mom really enjoys using it to play music. If you have Spotify you can connect this to it.

Works just like other Echo which is exactly what I wanted but the speaker doesnt sound as good as larger model. That is fine for the bedroom my Echo Dot is in, but if you want to listen to music with it, Id recommend a different Echo
