I got this for my son. He loves it. He asks Alexa questions. She can answer or respond to just about anything he asks her. Alexa is his alarm in the morning even though nothing wakes him up but shes tries.

The Echo Dot does everything that the full-size Echo does at a fraction of the cost. To be perfectly honest, it doesn't have the same sound quality, but unlike the full-size Echo, it can be connected to a Bluetooth speaker, and then the sound depends on the quality of your speaker. So you can easily get even better sound. It's easy to set up and fun for everyone to use. Best of all, it's actually very useful and with new skills coming out every week, it's only going to get better.

While I love the echo for getting latest weather, being able to turn on tv's and appliances around my house, I realized quickly that there are no parental controls. My 10-year son asked Alexa to play the some Kendrick Lamar, and it did not filter out any explicit words. I went into settings and even into Amazon Music and there is no option to do so. So songs he listens to on the radio now have words he hasn't been exposed to before. Thankfully he's a good kid and doesn't repeat them, but just FYI for parents out there. If Amazon had a way to filter out explicit language, I'd give it 5 stars for ease of use, great sound quality, and overall satisfaction.

I have been using the regular Echo in my living room and the Echo dot in my bedroom for over a year and use them for everything. TV, lights, news/weather and music! I'm enjoying the new dot in my kitchen!

Alexa still has the best echo system. At $29.99, its a simple decision. I would put the Echo in the Smart Assistant class. If you want a Speaker, get the Echo, Show, or connect to a set of real speakers.

I have enjoyed my Echo so much in the living room that I bought Dots for each of my kids to have in their rooms for controlling Wemo lights, playing music or just asking Alexa questions. Love these things.

I love having Alexa around my condo. I have one in each room. I use them along with a few smart plugs to control lights and other things. These are great to play music or finding out the weather outside. You can ask it just about anything and it'll answer you. When you have a couple, you can play music throughout your place on all of them. These are handy and I love having them.

The Dot is the much more affordable way to get almost all of the benefits of the Amazon Echo experience. The biggest difference is the quality of sound from the much smaller speaker. Despite the smaller size, Alexa's voice is crystal clear and easily heard in a moderately busy room. Even with the original Echo on sale for $100, the Dot is still a much better value. I linked mine with my home automation system and now have voice control of lights and devices throughout the house.

We always considered this a fad until we finally got one and I can tell you it is awesome. From having a quick answer for what the temp and forecast is to playing music answering questions and even setting an alarm we use for kids homework or reading time it allows you to continue what your doing like both hands busy in the kitchen and still do others things. You can even call people on your contact list without even picking up your phone!

My Mom has one and we enjoyed using it to check weather and settle discussion disputes. I got mine to use with the Hopper. Just hooked it up and it appears to work fine. Great low price for the holidays.

Very easy to setup and use. Nice that I can issue a command in one room to activate something in another room. Kids use it all the time to control TV and light. They play trivia and listen to music on it.

This little device is very cool and powerful. Small and easy to integrate anywhere in your home. A digital assistant as well as having the ability to control other purchased devices. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love my Echo Dot, so much, that I have one in my office, my bathroom, and my kitchen! So many features, it is difficult to explain all it can do for you. I find myself using it all the time!

Not much to say haven't used it yet. It's a Christmas gift. But I am very excited and can't wait to use it..i heard many good things about it. And it should be handy and helpful to have around the house

My Home has a bigger unit in a bedroom and this one is in the central kitchen. It can hear normal voice a room away each direction. These seem to respond for home automation quicker than Siri currently.

I liked the first one so much I bought a second one. Now I have one in the living room and one in my bedroom. Alexa has become my alarm clock waking me up to whatever music I chose. She gives me morning news briefings and the weather forecast for the day. She gives me out of town scores on sports events. She is a wealth of facts, can tell jokes and limericks, tells stories, and sometimes sings a song if you ask nicely. A good buy at a good price.

this is the 2nd dot I have bought and the 4th Alexa. They are addictive and very handy. one in the kitchen for background music as I cook, and for reminding me what to buy at the grocery.. Great product.

I got this one for my living room philips hue. Of course I should not expect a premium sound quality from $30. However, this thing gets the job done for the price. For the price, this thing is 5 stars.

I bought this as a gift for an older friend. He tells Alexa to turn on his lights and loves asking her questions, getting his news briefings and playing games with her. What a great product for all ages!

I bought 3 more for family members I use mine in the morning to play songs, weather, places to eat, Latest news and so much more. You don't have to touch it, it just answers whatever you'd like to know.
