I won't try to sell you on Alexa, but on this particular Alexa device. The biggest advantage of the 2nd generation Echo Dot that makes it superior to the 3rd generation is that it works with a standard micro usb power input. This allows you to choose any cord length, color, wall block you want for your particular installation. The 3rd gen only works with the provided supply.

This echo dot is the greatest device I bought in years. It works great with my other electronics. The voice commands respond very well.

Love this dot an the fact it's voice usable an if you have WiFi home things setup you can use the speaker to turn them on and what not.

This is a great new addition to the tech family I love gadgets so having this neat little feature hooked up to the house is pretty cool

Bought for Christmas gifts and for myself. Lay in bed turn of lamps get weather report, time and listen to music. That's luxury living.

Simple to use cheap and very helpful I got 4 of them for around my house and garage it works well with all my home automation products

I bought this and a Google Home mini to see if either one was easy to use for conversational language translation. Neither smart speaker did as good a job as using Google Translate on a smart phone. I am not interested in home automation so that part of the device was not tested. It is OK at answering questions. I think Google Home did a better job at answering my questions. Once in awhile the Echo would give the better answer. I will need to play with both some more and explore their other capabilities before I can make a final determination as to their overall usefulness.

I bought the Dot for $29. It’s smaller & speaker is excellent so I see no need to buy more expensive Echo with larger speaker.

This has been an amazing essential in my kitchen. I able to listen to music while I cook and clean.

I had been hesitant about buying one of the echo dots versus the larger Alexa device, but the echo dot works perfectly. I love it.

The amazon dot does everything the echo does just it a smaller form. Only down side is the acoustics aren't nearly as good as the Echo.

Great deal got 2 pack on sale for 60$still would recommend the 100 one for living rooms and this little thing for a bed room.

Fun to use and helpful in daily easy questions. The kids like to ask it random questions and a good task manager and reminder.

Bought this for my morning routine. Love how easy it is to set up and enable a morning routine. Weather, traffic, calendar, and classic rock. Now only if it could make me a Dr Pepper drink!

I haven’t had any experience with a smart speaker but it was easy to set up and we use it often!

Plays music. Small. Easy to use. Less costly than buying the more expensive echo if you don't need all the bells and whistles.

I really enjoyed this for listening to music, I have the larger version but this work just as well I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants a decently sounding speaker for music
