I have Alexa turn my lights on and off in conjunction with the Hue bridge. It very cool. Does the same thing as the $180 one... no need to spend that much.

Tremendous way to listen to the radio at night

Echo Dot

I don't use it for much more than that which makes me glad I went with the cheaper echo. The sound quality is good. I use it for music and weather updates.

The sound quality and mic quality aren't as good as the full size Echo. I wish the voice recognition was better, but for my use it works fine
