The Amazon Echo Dot works with a great number of home control devices and has many useful functions from setting an alarm to answering mathematical questions to playing games. It will connect to a bluetooth speaker and play music for you if you're a Amazon Prime customer. You can use several throughout the house to act as an intercom system, make phone calls, etc. The one function that needs to be updated is the inability to "play everywhere" when bluetooth speakers are connected.

Think of this as your smart home bridge that connects everything together. Nest/Phillips lights/Xbox/PS4/TV/AV Receiver. etc..

This item was bought for someone else as a gift but once I set it up for them I had to have it. Very useful. Highly recommend.

The Dot is all you need if on a budget. Although the sound is thin it is clear and loud enough so that you can hear music or speech from across the room. IF you have a extra large room and want a bigger sound with more base, you can use the dot's 3.5mm output jack to connect it to your TV's sound bar (if your sound bar has a 3.5 input jack) or connect to a bigger amplified speaker. Also great for bedrooms and bathrooms especially if you subscribe to Amazon Music for $10 per month.

love that you can talk to the device and get information. Links with apps in on apple & android.

If you looking at this to play music you will need to either use a Bluetooth speaker or use the AUX out to connect to a stereo. If you just want it for the home automation function this is all you need.

I love the echo dot for a couple of reasons. One-it makes it really handy for shopping lists as it goes to both my phone and the wife. Also, it was really easy to set up. It is great for music too..

Echo Dot is great if you don't want to spend a lot of money to get the Alexa . Your able to hook up your stereo or a blue tooth speaker. There are a bunch of features you can do with this great device.

It's fun in the early days to ask it the weather, etc, and easier than picking up my phone to ask Siri, but maybe a fad that will wear off? But cheap so ok

I have an echo, and wanted the Dot for my bedroom. Very pleased. Works great and the speaker from this is surprisingly good.

Excellent device. Lower cost alternative to Echo to allow use in rooms which do not require expense Echo with high end speaker.

I have 2 of these 1 in the basement and upstairs great listening music on and its connected too my surround sound just awesome

Simple and easy to set up and use. This was for my kids room before the kid version came out. The speaker could be improved. But overall works just fine!

Best way to play music whenever yo want. Mounted it in the kitchen and use it daily.

Bought this for a present. It's easy to use and makes music searching ready. Just doesn't find un common songs but still works!

Nice addition to Alex and the Echo Show. We play music throughout the house, nice to have that ability, and works well.

The setup is really easy and quick with the app. It's definitely really fun to use and I would buy more in the future.
