We really love using echo dot in the kitchen and in the bedroom. We can communicate and set timers with it!

Alexa controls our lights, av equipment and the thermostat. The dot can seemingly hear much better than the regular Echo. This dot will often respond instead of the Echo I’m sitting right next to. The speaker is horrible. If you are thinking of using this for music, I strongly suggest some type of speaker/amplifier to use in addition. It sounds worse than a tin can. I’ve also learned more is not always better. We have a small house and actually had to reduce the number of ‘Alexas’. If a distant one responded to a request to turn a light on or off, it typically wouldn’t happen. We have to talk to it quieter so only the closest one hears and then we have no issues.

Absolutely love my Echo dot!! We have it in the middle of our apartment (hallway area) and it hears us whether we're in the kitchen or our bedroom. We have found many ways to use it throughout our day.

Perfect gifts for my daughters! They use them as alarm clocks and get weather forecasts to choose clothing for school.

Best thing I've purchased in years. Just the alarm alone is worth the purchase, and now I win more arguments with the wife...

We originally purchased an echo with our Phillips Hue lighting kit. You can control the lights (turn on and off plus dimming) with your voice. The echo is super responsive to voice commands and quick to respond to tasks. We have ended up using a multitude of features such as checking the weather, creating timers, setting up with our wi-fi thermostat so that Alexa can control the indoor temperature, as well as with our smart lighting. We now have 4 Echo Dots in the house and use them daily.

I love Alexa!! It’s amazing to be able to talk out loud and get whatever I need. Mostly it’s to get some music playing.

This small unit does it all. I thought I might need the bigger unit but decided to try the Dot first and am glad I did.

This is a easy device to set up and use, not only can be used for day to day but also games and smart home. Highly recommended!

The Amazon dot was easy to set and use with my prime account. I have playlists set up and it is easy to get them to work. It will also play stations if you want. The speaker is fine for a small room but not designed for a large group of people. I had no trouble hooking up with my Samsung Smartthings hub. I can use most of my smart home "toys" with voice activation. For example, I had all my Christmas lights in a group and could tell the dot to "Turn on Christmas" and all my lights would turn on.
