It’s a nice entry into the smart home virtual assistant. I’m new to it but it works well and is simple. Since getting one, I’ve purchased one for each room and my Mom & Sister has gotten one too.

This is my first time using an Amazon Alexa product and I could not be enjoying it more! Alexa is always getting smarter and Amazon is always adding new skills (or apps) to use with her. At the low price point you can buy the Echo Dot for I figured I didn't have much to lose if I didn't like it, but I use Alexa every day. The Dot is so small too you can easily place it in any room without it being too noticeable. I've already purchased a second Dot to join my first one. Buy this!

This device works well if you're wanting to get into Alexa commands. It provides everything you need to get started with smart home voice commands. What's also great is it's ability to Bluetooth connect to bigger speakers for big music sound. However, an external speaker is not required.

I like to ask Alexa do I need a coat today (or tomorrow)? She tells me the weather. When traveling ask what the weather will be like where I am going. Grandkids like to hear her knock knock jokes!

Really like the easy way it set up. Very quickly. The only negative(a very small negative) is it can't answer some questions. But who am I to complain, the dot is way smarter than I am. It linked up with my Dish receiver very easily. And works great with it. And I think it will get better and better as time goes on. I did hook it up with Pandora's non subscription music service, and it plays music from almost any generation and type. I really like that it's free.

I would recommend the echo dot if you are looking for this type of device. It has all of the functionality I need, and did not see a need for the Echo Show which no longer even has Youtube access, or the larger echo. The speakers are actually pretty good for casually listening to music.

This is my second Echo Dot for another room in our house. It is so clear and concise. I don't have disconnection issues at all and Alexa has no problems understanding different voices when asked.

Just the right size for additional rooms in our home automation. As we use the name "Alexa" for our Echo, we use the name "Dot" for this smaller device. Black Friday made this an excellent deal.

Smaller version and a lot cheaper than the echo. The only difference is the added speaker on the latter. Still great!

The plug integrates well with the kasa app. Alexa is able to control the power to whatever you plug in to this outlet by voice commands. You can also remotely operate the plug on the Alexa app.

I have been team Apple for years. I purchased the echo dot to work with my smart home products and find myself using it for much more. Alarms, music,news..pretty much anything you can think of.

The Echo Dot is such a perfect gift for either the young or old on your gift list. Makes me feel like the cool grandma to come up with a gift idea that is so tech savvy but fun and easy to use.

I purchased this as a gift. I currently have 2 and they are fantastic. It controls my lights and thermostat. I am looking to get a video door bell soon and can't wait to sync it to my echo dot.

Bought this Echo Dot to go with my larger Echo. The big one is downstairs, the new Dot is upstairs. Very easy to sync so your music or tasks transfer between the two with no problems or delays.

My wife initially didn't want an Echo in the house because she didn't want me asking "another woman" for information and assistance all the time. I convinced her to agree to my purchase of an Echo Dot, since I'm working on some programming projects for work and having one around would help me test my Alexa Skills programs. ;) Now I can't get Alexa to stop talking to her. They have become good friends. Other than the "happy wife - happy life" effect, I can say that the Alexa platform is great and the Dot is a nice addition to our smart home set up (Nest, Hue, WeMo). And the Flash Briefing is a great start while preparing for and planning my day each day. More than worth the price.

I ordered this for my bedroom as I already have an Echo in my living room. I use it more than I thought I would for asking the weather, playing music, telling me the latest news. It has been very convenient having two devices at opposite ends of the apartment. However, I have tried the drop-in feature with the Echo in the living room and I was not impressed. I can barely hear the person in the living room talking into the Echo and coming out of the Dot. Not sure if the speaker on the Dot doesn't amplify the sound enough or if the person talking to the Echo needs to be right on top of the speaker to hear the voice through the Dot. Regardless, this was totally worth the price!

I love Amazon Echo products, this one is one of the less expensive and work great! Purchased to have it in my son room. He’s really enjoying Alexa and her abilities. Would recommend to anyone.

I wake up and tell Alexa good mornjng. She greets me and send a nice compliment my way. I eat breakfast and listen yo my daily briefing i ask her whats my schedul for today, she lets me know..

Received the first generation Echo dots last year for Christmas and have Bots for additional ones this year. Absolutely love having this little tool available. It is amazing at what it can do
