Great smart home device for the price but no replacement for its bigger siblings, one great use for these inexpensive smart devices is a wireless in home or long distance intercom system.

Installation is so easy, we have all our echos connected. They work great and work amazing with the app.

Have big plans for this little device. Already bought 3. Pair with Wemo switches to power all sorts of things in your home.

So far I’m enjoying Alexa! And the price for such innovative technology is magnificent. For small spaces, the speaker isn’t as bad as I’ve read in previous reviews. So far I’m loving it!

If you are into home automation I would give this a short. Amazon echo has been around for some time and many devices out there support it. Surprising for my Indian accent Alexa is able to understand me 90% of the time. I use Alexa with a Hue color starter kit and it works amazingly well with it. Honestly if you do not have any home automation devices this would be pretty useless you rather use your phone (iOS or Android) to do everything what Alexa does except shopping on Amazon ;) .

You can ask "Alexa" virtually anything and she will answer; from math problems to fun facts, and if you purchase Amazon Music for $3.99 a month you can play any song on your Echo Dot. I purchased another Dot for my son for Christmas and he loves it in his room. Next step, purchase a few smart plugs and control the lights (home automation). I love this item and is well worth the price of $49.99.
