The echo dot works great. I use “her” to turn on and off lights in my home as well as general information.

This is my second Echo and it works great. Very easy install and it integrated seamlessly with my other devices.

The Echo Dot is a neat little product that integrates reasonably well in my life (made up of mostly apple and sonos products). We have a pair of them, and one of the best functions is using the "drop-in" feature which acts like an intercom so we can check in our boys either upstairs or downstairs. I also appreciate the usefulness in the kitchen (timer, recipies, conversions) and quick news or sports briefings. Since I am still new to the Echo Dot, I probably haven't unlocked all of the great things about it, but a weekly email from amazon keeps me in the loop. I am eagerly awaiting the promised update that will allow full integration with Sonos.

Great gift for a sports/music person. Very easy to use and set up. 59 year old father figured it all out in 10 min.

Bought this as my second Amazon Echo device. I already had an Echo, so figured I would get this to extend it around the house. Alexa is a great assistant and usually gets the job done. The microphones do a good job of picking up sound and processing the requests from the user. The output is sound from the Dot is a little hard to hear sometimes. Favorite feature of mine is using the Drop-In feature to talk to my kids in their room while I am downstairs.

Picked up the Dot to see how we'd like Alexa and smart home stuff. We ended up liking it quite a bit

Since I received my first Echo, I have added one to each bedroom... using the Alexa app, this makes it easy to contact everyone without having to yell through the whole house :)

Alexa is such a blessing, it's removed all yelling throughout the house, and is just convenient.

Basically, these are a "lazy" person's way to ask the network questions. In addition, they are a good way to listen to music either from the web (Pandora) or from your computer.

What can I say...it is nice to having a personal secretary around the house to compile lists and answer questions.

I bought the Amazon Dot on a whim since I was interested to see what all the hub bub was about. It's useful for the ability to check sports scores and setting cooking timers. My only real complaint is that the speaker when playing music is weaker than I would like. I know that the regular Amazon Echo has a better speaker but I can connect the Dot to one of my Blutooth speakers if I really want to play music out loud. It's worth the price and they add little features every so often (Jeopardy, This Day in History, etc) that are fun to use.
