Echo Dot is so many things all in one!

Cool technology that's getting better

But in my view, the application is still somewhat limited. I don't see myself getting an Uber or ordering a pizza through this solution. But I do love the ease of playing music and I have installed compatible thermostats through the house. "Alexa set 2nd floor to 67 degrees". I love that. And I know that in time there will be many more practical applications and Alexa's general knowledge will improve. It's just a matter of time before Amazon takes over the retail world anyway. If you plan to use the device for playing music and sound quality is important consider pairing to a quality blue tooth speaker.
