Definitely upgrade to the 3rd Generation

Purchased 2nd Echo Dot

Once I got home, I realized I didn't need the Echo - the biggest difference I could see was the speaker (although the music quality still left much to be desired). Instead, I returned the Echo and bought a second Echo Dot. Fills my needs, for now. I will say that having Alexa around has been helpful!

LOVES that she can say "Play Frank Sinatra" or "Play Easy listening Music". Her grandchildren love asking Alexa questions and playing songs they know. She will never use it for anything too complicated, but we all love how easy it is to use! Even my 73 year old mom can do it!
