This amazon echo dot is extremely easy to set up and use.

I actually prefer this over the gen. 3 Echo dot for microphone pick up, and sound ? Go figure :)

I use my echo dot frequently. It is very easy to use and easy to connect. It makes the little tasks in life a little easier.

I keep one in the kitchen to ask it for conversions, recipes and just general information, as well as playing music, and one in the bathroom where I often need to ask about philosophical things in life. I prefer the shape of the dot over google's mini, as I can rest it on it's side. I find google's mini to be smarter, when asking questions though. Alexa all too often says "sorry, I don't know that". Still, it's a worthwhile gadget to have in the house. I bought mine when the sale price was $29

Alexa mostly controls my lights because I paired her with a smart outlet. Also enjoy listening to the news and weather. Pretty cool.

The Echo Dot 2nd generation works perfectly for our needs. We use it as an intercom between the basement office (where I hang out) and the gathering room/kitchen on the main level. I also enjoy getting the weather from Alexa. I am sure we are under utilizing the device, but it is performing at an excellent level for our purposes.

It's a smaller version of the larger one. Great for bedrooms or office.

I researched all of the "smart home" type devices pretty well prior to buying. I chose to get a couple Echo Dots rather than a smart home device with built-in speaker (Echo, Google Home, etc.) so that I could utilize Alexa from almost anywhere at home. The built-in speaker works fine for Q&A type of stuff. For music the Dot connects to a blue-tooth speaker that I already had. I'm still trying to figure out all of the things that Alexa can do for me. But for now, knowing the time without opening my eyes is enough.

Can really help make your life easier. Use mine for the living room
