Great Value!!

I chose to get a couple Echo Dots rather than a smart home device with built-in speaker (Echo, Google Home, etc.) so that I could utilize Alexa from almost anywhere at home. The built-in speaker works fine for Q&A type of stuff. For music the Dot connects to a blue-tooth speaker that I already had. I'm still trying to figure out all of the things that Alexa can do for me. But for now, knowing the time without opening my eyes is enough.

It's a toy

The dot is I pt for one medium size room. It connects to many electronic systems but not my Sony Tv!!!... my thermostat is not conpatible with it. At the end, my 5 yo is the one using it to ask for jokes and music... fun to play with... I will not get the big one...
