I have also tried google home but then that device will take atleast couple of more years before reaching the maturity of echo dot. Just the sound of echo dot is a bit inferior compared to google home mini. But then it has capability to connect to other audio devices through bluetooth so can be lived with.

Alexa not easy

Some things you want to teach her are not available.....yet. Needs plugged in at all times. If you want to make it mobile plug it into a pocket charger. Still needs to be on wifi, can't get on data. Lots of room for improvement. Shes good for telling jokes. To use Pandora or Spotify you need to be a subscriber. Nothing is free.

Love the Dot

After having it for a few months we really like it. its great to have around the kitchen / living room. I would recommend it just fort all the things you can ask it to do let alone connecting it to all the smart home items.
