New... but improved?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared to the original Echo and 1st gen, it's just okay... missing the ability to adjust the volume from turning the physical top of the device. I love the white to go with my kitchen. This particular unit seems to have more difficulty hearing the subtlety in different words than it's predecessors. Overall, the price point for the smart home voice-control is fair, but not "amazing".

Perfect for many applications

I have since bought smart plugs and smart switches and all work well within Alexa’s Skills. Biggest plus is being able to call my sister in Mexico over my Echo to her Dot, and to likewise speak to my mom in San Antonio. I highly recommend this product.
