Having so much fun with Alexa! Great for turning on lights when not at home...checking weather...answers many trivia questions and will tell jokes and sing a song and much much more! Still learning what capabilities the echo has and plan to buy the show and camera next!! Speakers work great!

I use this dot, primarily, as a control device for my Hue lights and to play music on my Sonos speakers. It does the job with no problems. The internal speaker is not as good as that included in the larger Echo devices but that is as advertised and as expected. No problems with the Echo Dot.

I purchased one of the Echo Dot's with skepticism wondering "how good could this be?" Well, let me tell you, Alexa is a great addition to the family bringing jokes, music, easy shopping, daily interesting facts and weather info!! It was so much fun we bought 5 more for family members!!!! You'll love her!

It was easy to set this up. Seems to work with the Hue lights after finding bridge. Great product.

You'll want to plug this into a speaker or home audio system. Can stream amazon prime music, any music you've purchased from amazon, other music streaming apps, some radio stations, and any music or streaming apps you have on a phone or tablet...oh, and there's the other Alexa/echo features as well....

The Amazon echo dot is a great way to get started using a personal assistant and home automation. Through the IFTTT app you can tie in your calender, to do list, order items needed through Amazon and more. Combine echo with a eckobee or nest thermostat or hue lighting and it makes life much simpler.

I would give the Echo 6 starts if I could. Amazing product and so many different things you can do with it. I have it tell my my morning commute, add products to my grocery list and also have it connected with my harmony remote to operate my TV and audio system. I just wish the light bulbs were cheaper.

I like to be able to play music or use them to calm my kids from their rooms.

Its good for checking the weather and my daughter loves it but the fact that I can't get it to connect to any other music app is nerve racking. It wants me to sign up for amazon music, I already have spotify, apple music and google music so I'd rather not sign up for amazon music but that the only way to get music to play independently without Bluetooth it. Besides that it tells joke and its convenient for fun facts etc.

Used in my office to control lights and music. Use at home for stereo (harmony hub) lights (insteon) and thermostat (ecobee3). Works fine. You need a pre programmed “skill” to match what you want it to do. Will not access direct internet questions for many subjects (which Siri can and does do). Also info not always correct. (Hours into blizzard on Jan 4, replied there is a 65%chance of snow) otherwise I like it.
