O have found the Alexa app is trial by error. It comes with very few instructions and I wanted it promarily as an interface with my Dish Hopper. Niiether Dish nor Amazon have provided much in the way of instructions on how to best use the device. It would have bee nice o have a written guide to different operations that Alexa would let you uitlize to make the hopper more user friendly through voice interface.

Echo dot is good, but I would invest in the Amazon Echo for the full effect and sound quality

This product is helpful. I don't like the idea that you have to speak directly to the speaker.

Not very useful unless you have a home with bluetooth thermostats and lighting.

I love music, so this was a fantastic purchase for me. The price was great.

We got these and a third gen for the house and love the features. I don't care if she listens in. I've got nothing but boring convos and it creates another low paying job for some schmuck who got laid off from his high paying job so what's not to love?

I thought I could do more things. Don’t need something to turn stuff on that cost extra. I should have done better research.

We ended up with around 6 of these throughout our house. It is a great product that has many options. We have it controlling our lights and our tv now with the hopper from dish tv. All you have to do is speak and lights turn on and answers are given. Once again this is a wonderful product.

This is the best thing that happen to me. I am always busy and sometimes forget things. This devices lets me set reminders. When I'm rushing and don't have time to look up the news for traffic alerts for my commute to work or etc. This device comes in handly.i love it.

The kids love their echo dot. It's simple to use and assists in small things.

A great reward well received by the results of my mother reaction on Christmas Day, and the price it was to buy as a gift made a major difference with amazing results. I admire Alexa sense of communication as an assistant and being my mother personal assistant have help a great deal.

It's nice to be able to just ask a question and Alexa may provide the answer to the question.
