Great item if you have Amazon Prime

I don't have Amazon Prime so I can't ask it to play specific songs so that was really a minus for me. It also gets a little cumbersome having to ask to open a skill for a specific category. It's ok overall, I guess it just wasn't exactly what I thought it would be.

Great product, Want light controls next

I am adding light control next..

Good introduction for beginner

I can ask the dot to turn on the music in different rooms of the house. I also have a Sonos 1 speaker with Alexa in another room. I can use the Sonos 1 speaker with Alexa to increase or lower the volume, but cannot change volume with the dot. Dot cost much less than the Sonos speaker.

Good Cheaper Option

I would recommend getting the original first, and getting this as a companion/extension to the original. Its definitely worth every penny and they work together, which is great.

Fun and useful product

She is now able to set her med reminders easily and the unit is loud enough to wake her if she is napping. The sound quality is acceptable but as Amazon said it was designed to be connected to external speakers while providing all the features of the Echo at a third of the price.

Lots of useful apps after weeding through the not so useful ones. I've got my bedroom lamps and tv hooked to Wemo plugs to be controlled by Alexa. Great buy for $50.
