The speaker is small but it does have decent sound. The ability to have multiple synced throughout the house is a nice feature.

The amazon echo dot is a great little AI assistant. It's able to answer any question asked of it and can play any song you want.

Great tech device especially when used with the lightbulbs and tplink plugs!! Also pair with a great speaker for quality sound!

Let me preface this with I don’t have any home automation enabled devices. I bought this for one reason only: the Destiny Ghost speaker. I have no real practical use for it, and nothing connected yet. However I find myself using it more and more for various things around the house, or to remind me to get ready for work while I’m being lazy. The potential to do great things seems limitless, I just haven’t gotten to that point with it yet. In short, I think it’s neat and I like it. The End.

I have 2 and now my son get this one. With the new features of learning individual voices so my son can set reminders and stuff

I bought a bunch of these to do voice controlled home automation. Some of the automation has been a huge success. Some of it has been a disaster. Really think about the scenario and if voice control is actually easier or not. If something is really a pain to do, then voice control is amazing. If something is simple to do and doesn't take a lot of physical effort or time, voice will seem like a chore in comparison. If you are buying one for the Unlimited Music Plan, then it's a no brainer. Asking Alexa to play a certain genre, album, artist, top songs from 1985 or whatever else is a lot easier than queuing it up yourself on a device by hand. I like to say play latest album by a given artist because then I don't have to worry about remembering the album name. Also great for while washing dishes. This is an instance of where voice control is excellent because your hands are wet and soapy. Listening to the news every morning is also nice. It's very easy to queue up while you are busy making your breakfast. You definitely need speakers to hook up to the Dot if you are going to do anything with music. If you are just doing voice activities, you could probably get away with just the built-in speaker.

Echo dots are a great first step into a smart connected home, especially if you already have Amazon prime and shop with amazon.

It's a pretty cool speaker. It's super easy to change stations or ask questions. Only downfall is it isn't loud enough to hear out of a room, and alexa can't hear you talk unless you're in the same room

I just love Echo Dot. First, pros: It hears *really* well. And despite my thick Indian accent, it recognises 95% of my commands, some including Indian names, pretty well. I just wish it came with more "pre-programmed" skills, like translation etc but these can be activated with minimal effort. The big con? The Alexa app. It sucks. Slow to react and very complicated. But that is again, not the fault of the hardware. Bottomline, this piece of equipment is a useful addition to my house on terms of tech.

We use it for the weather, music and our smart lights. I’m sure there’s more it can do but for what we use it for it’s perfect.

Already have one of these in the house and needed one more. Best Buy had an early black friday price and I couldn't pass it up!

Can ask most questions & get an answer. Really easy to do. Great fun listening to favorite songs thru the levening last night.

I use this primarily for controlling things around the house and listening to Prime music. It was easy to setup and connect to my other internet devices. It has no trouble understanding commands. It isn’t Google, so it isn’t good for getting answers to random questions, but does have its own bank of fun things to play and ask.

Their mom had some trouble setting up, but 11 year old figured it out and connected her music subscription to it very quickly.

I love this thing. Speaker isn’t so great, but I just connect it to my bigger Bluetooth speaker and it works great! I love this little dot, though I do sometimes feel foolish saying Alexa all the time.

I love the way I can have Echo and echo dot playing the same thing in different rooms of my home. I'm getting at least 3 more.

Use it in our office and kitchen. Would want a larger one for an open floor plan, but this works well for a traditional layout

I really am impressed with the functionality of the Echo Dot. I already had Alexa, but she couldn't reach into my bedroom. The Echo Dot has a small footprint on my nightstand, and functions as a weather center, alarm, light switch, and music streaming device. Honestly, I probably could have skipped getting the larger unit and just went with the Dot.

I really enjoy the Amazon Echo, it is very easy to use and our family enjoys exploring everything that the Amazon Echo can do.

Echo is so useful for things like weather check , recipes, sports , and much more. Love saying good morning to Alexa every day
