The minimal footprint fooled me into believing this mini-echo, minimal in functionality. Oh, I was a fool. You'll be amazed by how much you rely on this little devil, over time. It started out as simply a novelty. It morphed into my alarm clock, audiobook controller and white noise speaker for sleeping. It really does do everything. And I, for one, welcome our new Alexa overlords.

Good product but still lots of improvement needed.

Purchased this for my wife. She has used it a bit, but the novelty quickly wore off. Overall, I believe it will be a great product once we start to add devices such as automatic switches and lights for areas of our home that are very dark. This will enable us to turn them on and off simply by asking "Alexa" to turn them on or off. I love technology, so this is the primary reason I purchased.

Great deal that I couldn't pass up. Using this with my kindle fire.

While it doesn't sound as good as the full size Alexa, it isn't bad at all. Alexa answers things the same, and setup was a breeze. I have 2 Echo's and now this DOT, and my house has great coverage. The dot moves around easily and stays connected in every location in my house.

I was surprised the sound quality is really not bad for size of the Amazon Dot!

It does everything it claims. Cheap enough and portable enough. Great gift.

I now have 4 of these in my house, set up is generally very easy, some of the devices take some effort to get connected, but once things are set up, it is a great convenience. Even connected it to my intercom system (easy) to have it work throughout the house.

I purchased the Dot due to the price point and the fact that I wanted to test out Alexa. I am super impressed with Alexa's abilities, she plays music (moderate loudness), sets alarms & timers, and tells me the weather. These are the few functionalities I use the most, I really think she's worth the price, she has some learning to do with music title recognition but otherwise a solid choice.

It has been fun getting to know Alexa. A few minor glitches, but still useful.

Alexa is always adding new capabilities but right now is not nearly as powerful as Siri. It would be great if Alexa could respond to commands in other languages. such as Spanish or Japanese. It would be even better if it could have a language learning component to it.

its awesome i just got it yesterday. best buy was quick in delivering. i got it for just 2 days. It would have been nice if there is a male voice option and voice recognition option then I would upgrade it next time

It only works well with a speaker. If you are using it in a dorm then it sucks. I wanted one all year and when I got it I hated it . To even use the thing it has to be connected to wifi and has to have an app downloaded. And the app looks cheesy and so plain . Plus if it’s not a strong wifi connection it will kick you out and turn off. Which sucks if u use it as an alarm clock

We loved the dot. So much so we ended up ordering the bigger unit as well so have in our bedroom. It is super convenient and it even comes with deals that are offered through it. The only personal downside is that the connection to the Sonos isn't there yet. We have a good amount of smart devices in the house that it connects with, it would have just been perfect if it also hit up the Sonos.

The Echo Dot was my first purchase and ignited my "smart home" passion. We connected the Dot to SmartThings and are now able to control our lights with it. My 5yo daughter also loves it since she is able to say "Alexa, Play Kids Bop Kids" and it starts playing music for her.

Having an amazon echo and a show, I had to have one of these somewhere and we chose to place it in our office room where my children tend to do their homework, and play. Since, our kitchen and dining room is on the other side of the house, we use the dot as a intercom to inform them dinner is ready or whatever needs to ger a hold of them. So far, everything has worked fine!

Its a good product. Small and sleak so does not look bad and gets the task done!

I love this product, great value, great quality and so useful when you have more than one room in your house and Alexa is out of range. It's certainly not a replacement speaker, but for the purpose of enhancing Alexa functionality, this is exactly what you need.
