Got this on a spur of the moment, sounded like something really cool to have, just not sold on its' functionality and if I need it day to day. So that is why I give an average rating. It does seem to work, but sometimes comes on for no reason. All in all I think product is adequate.

This is a cheap alternative to experience what the Echo and Alexa service can do. The only disadvantage is that the speaker doesn’t compare to the quality of the Echo speaker and sometimes in noisy environments you have to raise your voice a little so the Dot can hear you. If you are transforming your house into a smart home this is an excellent addition to you smart home project.

Love the small size, works well ,can't wait to get lights to go with it!!

We are enjoying the echo dot. Although, at times, at does not respond.

Works well for basic question and answers but struggles a Lot with more complex questions...like what to do if you have a cold or simple recipes. Seems to work with my Spotify ok, but it has does not show up on my other Spotify Premium accounts/devices when the app says it should. Will keep playing with it.

It’s a great little accessory to have around the house. Can be fun to get info from especially in a pinch

Not my first Echo and not my last. I gave Echos to my brother and sister for Christmas,and I bought this one for my mother especially because of the AskMyBuddy app. We had purchased an alert bracelet but she didn't like it. AskMyBuddy and Echo are perfect for her!

I purchased this item for my daughter at Christmas and she loves it.

As a busy mom of an 8 year old and a 2 year old, I always forget to write things down. Alexa makes my life easier. It is so easy to just say 'Alexa, add milk to the shopping list' or Alexa, add get paint for stairs to the to-do list'. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

The echo dot is a great little device. My kids love it and it is easy to use.

I love my amazon Alexa echo dots. I have 3 and they are very convenient. I’m able to turn my lights off, check my temperature inside and outside my house, listen to music, and control other various items in my home. They are very convenient.

I purchased this item because a friend introduced me to it over the Thanksgiving holiday. It's a ton of fun and has so many uses around the house. My children use it often when doing homework and research. I love it. I purchased a couple for my friends for Christmas.

I have found the Echo Dot to work very well for applications that don’t require HiFi audio. It is inexpensive enough to be able to put one in most rooms for Alexa use, and it also is very useful as a wireless intercom through Alexa.

So far with several Dots, I control SONOS, and most of the light fixtures in house. Set up for the Flash news briefing and listen to it while dressing or making coffee. Even good for quick weather check. Different skills for nature sounds, sports, etc.

I have the full version and the dot. While I love that I can connect the Dot to an external speaker, I can't seem to keep it connected to one. It defeats the purpose if every time I go to use it, I have to reconnect the Bluetooth. This may be a problem with my Bose Soundlink Mini instead of the Dot however. Don't try to use the dot by itself for music. The sound is not very good.

You can ask Alexa anything and she will answer. You can play any music,; however, some songs require you to sign up for amazon music. She can even recite poems, movie lines, books...etc. You can tell her to turn on and off the lights, Simple gadget for the future.
