for those who may already have and Echo this is the more basic version and as with the Echo the device has a lot of limitations. It can do basic stuff like weather reports, play some of your music and if properly set up may also control home devices such as lights. It is small but certainly does not have a lot of other functions and most smart phones can do similar functions.

I ordered one online and after using it, I went back and got 2 more when I realized they were linkable.

I love the Amazon Echo but have that upstairs int he bedroom. I got a Dot for the family room. At first it was garble, which was strange, but that cleared up. What is strange is that she hears the TV. The Alexa commercials drive it nuts. I also had to quickly cancel an order that she made when the actors place an Alexa order on the commercial. So be careful where you put it!

So far so good! I wish amazon will let you choose what name you call it besides Alexa or Amazon. There have been times where Alexa does not know the answer to certain questions or you have to repeat your question a few times so that can be annoying. I purchased the Philips Hue to sync with my dot and it was a very tedious process but eventually got it to work. I'm impressed!

We love our echo. The dit is a simple way to enjoy it upstairs in our home.

Even though 2nd gen still has a few kinks. That being said; I like it.

Easy to use, could have a broader knowledge base but it is entertaining.

We have a Wink system that was good for linking up all sorts of stuff: lights, garage, cameras, etc. However, with regard to the lights, since Alexa has a Wink skill, I haven’t opened the Wink app in FOREVER. turning on different lighting levels is soooo much nicer and easier when you can “ask” for it. Just wish it wouldn’t get triggered by the TV sometimes :)

I bought the dot as a gift for a teenager and they love it. Best gift ever

I just wish it was a bit smarter it is easy to use and the kids love it

I have this for using Alexa Business. It is pretty cool and is near flawless. Getting pass the "big brother" always listening is kinda creepy. It is a great device for the elderly in helping them with tasks like turning on lights or other appliances.

The Amazon Echo Dot, has so many uses. If you know what you are doing, you can make the Echo Dot a great way to fill in when your own personal assistance is now around, lol. I love checking my email to find some new skills that Alexa now can do.

Been using Amazon Echo and Alexa for the last few years. Such a convenience and much better than Google Home I’m my opinion especially since we do a lot of Amazon shopping as well. Some may prefer Google just not us
