We tried the Google home many 1st and it was no good so we went to the alexa dot abd we love it. I wish it was louder though.

We use it everyday for many different things. Check the weather, traffic to work, listen to music, the uses are almost endless

After getting an Echo Dot as a present last year, I purchased several of them for family. Works well with ihome plug outlets.

The echo dot provides convenient internet searching! It finds music stations easily and is great for alarm setting and calendar reminders. I only wish Alexa was programmed to recognize more commands.

A great price for a very neat technology gift for my son. Voice activated technology will do just about anything you command.

I loved this thing so much that I bought one for all 4 grandchildren! I have mainly used it to listen to my Pandora Radio, but I ask Alexa lots of questions as well. She understands very well and is very informative! I can wait to get the other compatible items to turn lights off and on and add more of them throughout my home. This is my new toy!

Really good features. Bought 4 of these, 2 as gifts and 2 for myself. Mainly use for the calendar, weather, play specific songs, pandora and just before Christmas bought a wireless outlet to tell "Alexa" to turn on the Christmas tree. The one in my bedroom disconnects from the intenet once in a while. It is only 8 feet away from the router and the other one is 20ft away so I don't understand the issue. Not as smart as google home when it comes to questions either. Overall it is great.

Upon reading that Amazon had vastly improved the Echo Dot in it's second generation while keeping the price very competitive (I got mine on sale for $35 - a steal, in my opinion), I decided to do a bit of research and buy one. I will not compare it to the Google Home or similar products simply because the Dot is the only product I have used in this category of device. It has left me very satisfied! Amazon's ecosystem for the device is consistently growing and improving. Alexa hears me with ease no matter where I am in a relatively large room. For audiophiles, the Dot surely has horrible sound quality. However, I don't mind it so much as just a basic music device - it's not so bad. I did hook it up to an old Bose speaker system I had via a 3.5mm audio cable and it sounds even better that way; but, you can definitely get by with just the built-in speaker. I use it to play music all the time using just voice commands - Alexa is surprisingly good at recognizing artist names, song titles, and radio station names and giving me back what I want - a playlist, radio station, shuffle, etc. Overall, I'm very pleased with how it integrates and works to meet my requests. Very happy!

We love this product! Got it on sale. We ended up buying another one for the second floor. So much stuff you can do with it.

The Amazon Dot is a good starting point at a great price to test the amazon personal assistant if you are looking for that note taker and music starter go with the dot then move up if it is for you.

I have the full-size Alexa in my living room and this is perfect for my bedroom now that it pairs with sonos I’m super happy

I got into the Smart Home world about a year ago and Alexa is a key ingredient of the mix. I have 6 at my home work perfect.

I use my echo dot in the family room. I like to listen to my Amazon unlimited music and now with the echo dot it's a lot easier. I don't have to do anything but ask Alexa to play my fave tunes. Plus if I remember that I need to buy something or reorder toothpaste, I can do that right from my couch..., without even moving. Best device ever.

The Echo Dot is simple to set up and simple to utilize. Alexa is fast with responses and the speaker on this device is very clear and loud. Perfect for any room. I have no regrets on purchasing the Dot verses the Echo... Can't ever go wrong with Amazon, so happy that Best Buy has this device to try out in the store before you decide to purchase

There are some things that I asked it, and still couldnt get answered. For example, " how to take care of a cat?", Alexa didnt know how to respond. Where as Google Home knew, and responded properly.

A powerful machine for this size. The only thing i didnt like was the fact it cannot play a certain playlist on my spotify like the specific it plays my spotify but cannot react to asking specifics.

talk to your home and it responds! Amazon's alexa is the gateway to home automaton only you can now do this with your voice.

Alexa is great I am learning more and about what she can do. I bought the dot and the smart plug together for a great price.

I wanted to try and see if I wanted the echo but didn’t want to spend over $100 so decided to try echo dot! Absolutely love it! I have one in my living room/kitchen and one in my bedroom. We got the smart bulbs for the lamps in both rooms and it’s so convenient. You can do so many things with it, i don’t regret buying them!
