I bought one for my wife for Christmas. She really likes it

This is our first home assistant. So far we enjoy using it.

I didn't want to pay for a full blown Echo, so this Dot was a great way to verify operability for my purposes. I mounted it under a cabinet in the kitchen, and its not uncommon to ask "Alexa, what's the weather {today|tomorrow}" around here now!

Ask her most anything. Way better than anything I've ever had

The Echo Dot is a great inexpensive option to expand Alexa capabilities into more rooms of the house. Alexa is a pretty intuitive digital assistant that continues to expand capabilities. The sound quality is OK, but I would not expect much from any speaker this size. You can always connect a better speaker via bluetooth if you wanted.

Bought two of these for our boys bedrooms to use as a cheap intercom system. We didn’t need the better sound quality of the echo for our purposes. The boys enjoy having their own “Alexa” and no more yelling upstairs that dinner’s ready!

Connects to your WiFi. Plays your songs. Calls your friends with an echo. It tells you jokes, sings songs and plays games. It will answer any math problem, tell info on anything of interest. It goes on and one and gets better every day.

Works well with Alexa, Super easy set up. No problems at all.

I absolutely adored the Alexa virtual assistant upon picking up the Amazon Echo Dot. However, the sound quality was a bit disappointing. This said, I wound up keeping the Dot in the kitchen and upgrading to the original Amazon Echo for my bedroom.

My wife and I were recently sent a pic of our niece enjoying various Christmas gifts while listening to Alexa play her favorite "IHeartRadio" music station. She said, "Alexa was a big hit" and we all know that she is capable of doing so much more!

Just plug it and it walks you through the set up very easy to use

Alexa is very helpful....sometimes...it seems like she wants to do her own thing a lot. She will randomly play a song or if I tell her to stop playing the music she will just ignore me ..multiple times so I have to just go turn her down manually. She is great when she wants to listen.

Pretty good got the price. Gifted it to someone and she loves it.

I love my Echo Dot. However, the technology, like many in its infancy, isn't the most reliable and is flawed. I'm constantly having to re-enable "skills" that I've already done multiple times. And Alexa's speech recognition is good, but could be improved upon. Overall, definitely worth the money. But later versions will certainly be improved upon.

Easy setup and very helpful. Highly recommend this product

Great product. Its used for the basic needs such as asking for weather updates or general news. But if you want Alexa to do more things you need to sign up for advance features which will cost additional monthly fees. For example, if you want Alexa to be setup to your cellphone google calendar, music, TV, home alarm system, etc.

I bought this to use the assistant feature my cable company incorporated into the TV set top box. Limited features but does everything its supposed to do for my TV. Standard features for the dot are great to have too.

So far this is a nice little music player for a small kitchen no complaints. I've added the Harmony remote skill and can remote turn on the TV etc which is pretty neat as well. Looking forward to experimenting with other skills and feature as time permits. At $40 it's a good introduction to Alexa eco-system to see if its something you would use.
