I was hesitant to connect this and have Amazon listening all the time. I now use it all the time after connecting the audio output to my home music system. Now i can tell it what to play using my voice. Very useful.

For what it does its a bit pricey, but good for music

The Echo Dot is a nice add-on to the Amazon Alexa.

I bought this for my husband and he loved it. It was easy to set up and easy to connect to a speaker. I bought this one bc I knew we'd connect it to a speaker so I didn't care that it was the smaller version of the echo.

I owned several of the DOT. It works well with Alexa and other smart controls. Bought it on sale. Absolutely nothing to complain about other than it won't make my morning coffee and hand me the mug.

I bought this as a way to turn on lights and alarm. Since, I have started asking weather, timers, facts, and just random stuff. Partner this with IFTTT and the ideas are endless. Trackr is also nice to find lost phones.

Works just as good as the echo. All the same voice functions and quality as its counter parts. Gave it 4 stars only because the sound quality for playing music is as good as the tap or echo but you can connect it to a Bluetooth speaker for better quality. Great counter part to the echo and tap or just to have in the bead room.

Love the idea of this and when it works it's great. You need to plug into and unused outlet to start and keep away from anything that will interfere with it like speakers, radios or other electronics. Concept is great and if properly set up to work with other things would be great. But too hit and miss to earn a 5 star rating

Hated my alarm clock so bought another one of these to replace it. We have one in living room as well. I find them convenient when needing to add to shopping list or want info. and now setting my alarm to wake up

Amazon Dot is affordable and has lots of "skills". I sometimes have issues having Alexa hear/respond to me compared to Google Home. I also wish commands for Amazon Dot were more intuitive and conversational, the way Google Home is. However, until Google Home develops their skill sets more, the Amazon Dot will be a better buy.

I’ve bought a couple of these now - I also have a few of the newer generation. These are great for the bedrooms. The only reason for the four star instead of five star review is the speakers are a step down from the newer gen. Depending on the size of the space would determine which I would buy.

I have both an Echo Dot and an Echo Plus. The Dot is very useful for basic voice commands, but the sound quality for playing music is rather poor. I mostly use it for voice commands and as an intercom between it and the echo plus so my wife and I don't have to yell at each other through the house.

I bought this for my parents for Christmas (2016) and they loved it...and so did their friends during dinner parties! Within a month I got one for myself! I use it everyday for weather, news, facts, jokes and music! Love it!

It was a cool product for the first few days but It’s novelty wore off quickly.

I bought this one for the bathroom as I like to listen to music as I shower but the speaker is weak and I really could not hear it. It's great for the bedroom though and I love falling to sleep listening to sounds of nature thunderstorm and ocean waves. It's big sister Echo gen 2 is the one made for real music.
