We already had a couple echos and echo dots. This is the first version and was on sale for a great price. I actually got this for a gift exchange, but I would recommended any of the echo products.

Speaker sucks, if you are planning on listening to music it's not that great

Purchased this Amazon Dot to make us feel more secure in our home. We can ask Alexa to call our children or 911 if my wife or I need help..We both are in our 80s. Already needed to use it once.

If English isn’t your 1st language, think twice before buying this product.

I bought this solely to integrate with my Logitech Harmony and FireTV setup. I was looking to be able to control my devices when the remote is on the other side of the room and it has worked out great so far.

I think I like the regular Echo better, I know speakers were not as big but seemed louder in store. I haven't tried hooking up to external speakers yet. Our internet/wifi is not the best in our area but seemed to have more issues with dot then I did with the regular echo wonder if there is a difference there as well.

My mother-in-law has issues with her vision and we bought this so she ask about things like the time and the weather. Also, it's great for reading books to her and playing music for her.

I was contemplating this or the Google home. This one offers so much more. I gave it at a gift to my mom and she loves it. I got a Google for christmas and I wish I could get an Alexa instead! These are great

I live the eco dot but it was essentially a 50.00 dollar alarm clock. I have mostly apple products here and it does not work with iTunes or iOS. But if you are not an Apple house I would recommend this to everyone.

I bought this from Best Buy as it was actually cheaper than from Amazon at the time. Now amazon is cheaper. I highly recommend as it has networked my rooms and plugged into my stereo without issue.

The echo dot is already a part of my daily routine to determine what to wear based on the weather report from Alexa as well as traffic updates, any events on my calendar, etc. The echo dot is also fun for playing games.

Dot is a great addition to any home. While the speaker isn’t especially good it can be easily paired with a Bluetooth speaker for a better sound quality. This is a great way to introduce your home to Alexa.

Use it every so often for purchases. Especially like the fact you can use Alexa to by pass the add on price for purchases. Meaning you do not need to spend the $25 for it to qualify for the add on price.

We enjoy it, got a little old pretty quickly, maybe just didn't use enougg

My first opinion was “this is decadent “. I mean, how hard is it to flip light switches? But now, it’s so much more. Would truly miss them if they weren’t there. Getting some for the whole family!

Love Alexa specially when I ask her what time it is or she reminds me of an appointment. This one is in my bedroom. We have 3 of this Alexa’s the big one and the one you can see the actual person.

We purchased this for an elderly woman so she could ask questions any time of the day. She absolutely loves it, we have purchased a second one for the house to use in a different part of the home.

I have an Echo and bought the 2nd generation Dot to go with it. I am in Germany as I write this and the Dot connects to the hotel wi-fi with no problems. I bought a small camera case to protect the Dot when travelling.

I was initially skeptical to the practicality of the echo. But once I used it i have fallen in love with it. I use it for news, movies titles and daily weather. It's versatility is exceptional and I use it everyday.

You want a great and easy gift for white elephant... well then look no further! Everyone was after this great purchase! The voice assistant is somewhat accurate. You can’t bring down the volume of speaker with a conmand using percent values vs the google speaker... but besides that it’s a great purchase
