The Amazon echo, unlike the Google Home, cannot answer consecutive questions based on the conversation history, which is a bit disappointing. However, it does the basics well - controlling all my lights, music streaming, and give me quick daily briefing.

We bought this for our boys for Christmas and they both enjoy it! The app gives tips on what to ask so it can be more interactive plus music library is great!

Love my echo dot! Had purchased the original echo for friends last year but not for myself. They reciprocated this year with the dot. Does everything the original does.

Good range. keep this in the bedroom for a alarm clock and use for sleep sounds. just the same as the echo, just the speakers are obviously not as loud as the echo.

If you're looking for little Alexas for around the house to turn on lights or change the thermometer, set reminders, etc., this is great! But if you have any aspirations to make this an especially small speaker, even for alarms, you may be disappointed.

bought this over google's home due to the number of 3rd party integrations. I use it with wemo, insteon, IFTTT, Nest. Phrasing makes all the difference, can ask the same thing 2 different ways and one of them Alexa will not understand or simply give up.

The dot is a lot of fun whether you want to know the weather or when the next game is on all you do is ask Alexa and she can answer about any question you ask

I love the feature of being able to make grocery lists onto the dot, then whoever is doing the shopping has the list right there on their phone!

We've come a long way and have a long way to go still! I own both a dot and an echo and love having both around to ask questions, anything from the weather to the news.

I had no issues setting up a regular Echo and the Echo Show. However, when trying to add a Dot in a separate room, the Dot would not respond to me. When asking it a question, I would get an answer from the Echo in the other room. what gives?

I got this dot so I could send messages upstairs to downstairs. The dot is the most economical smart speaker and is not limited to a speaker that is attached.

Was a little leary of the purchase but after I got it home and started using it, it was awesome. If you actually use the apps it makes it well worth the money and more.

Had an echo already and this synced perfectly. Sounds isn’t the most amazing thing in the world when stand-alone but Bluetooth works well with a speaker!

This was our first dot and it is well worth the price. We are Prime members and love the music, jokes, games and trivia the entire family can use.

use this every day. answers questions. creates reminders/calendar events. use with ecobee thermostat and d-link outlets for on-the-go home automation. kids love it too

We got ours to to work with our Nest thermostats and Wink lighting so that alone made it worth the money but it's also just fun messing with all the skills it can do.
