The little buddy to the Echo, the dot can do everything that the Echo can do. After you program Alexa to do the skills you ask her to do, she is intuitive and responsive. However, the sound quality is not as good as the Echo. Still, it’s a great companion for drop-ins and to have the continuity of having Alexa work from room to room. Slowly, I will add the smart home products that Echo plays off of. Crazy, but I was sitting in my car ready to ask Alexa a question and she wasn’t there. #Co-dependent

Alexa is great, really recommended for prime members because then you get music and other features included for free. I have our living room lights set up on it and our thermostat and sprinkler system. Alexa turn living room on, boom. Alexa lower the temp 1 degree, boom. Alexa water station #2 boom. Could not have even imagined this stuff when i was a kid. Only down side is you have to have good internet wherever the component (light, thermostat) is plugged in but i guess thats not the units fault.

I bought this for my 12 year old son to go along with the echo. He loves to use it to play music, set alarms, and help him with his homework. I like that I don't have to yell upstairs to get his attention, I use the "drop I'm feature.

This works perfect as a bedside alarm, sleep music, news and weather station. Speakers are better than I expected. I guess you would need to attach full speakers if using as main unit. Functionality is same as full-size alexa at tiny orice.

Either playing music directly from Amazon or pairing it with your device, it’s got great volume and abilities. Just ask Alexa.

The echo dot is fun to use. We can play music, ask trivia questions, get directions, add a grocery list, get the weather and more. Even though It's small, it works great in our family room. I would definitely recommend the echo dot.
