I paired this with a Harmony Hub and Phillips Hue lights and I'm really happy with what Alexa can do. Next will be a thermostat. It's still early in it's development so I can't wait to see what's next for this device.

echo dot has a speaker

The sales person who helped my wife told her this didn't have a speaker in an attempt to upsell to the full echo (I assume), but it does actually have a speaker. Works pretty well, although sometimes alexa goes rogue and just responds even though we have not prompted her.

Loved the new white color. Downside is that the charging cord is black and bulky and the unit must be plugged in at all times to work. Thought it had an internal battery like a cellphone but didn't..

Love my Dot

The speaker is just fine for most things even music, but in a pinch she connects to my high end bloothooth speaker. Whole family talks to her. Absolutely love it!

There's so much more you can do with it. I also use it to listen to music, check the weather, and set alarms. It's great and I highly recommend it!
